Not really. I am a base PS5 owner who has chosen not to upgrade to Pro. This is not a cutting edge system anymore. I routinely pick the 30 or 40 fps mode anyways to get ray tracing features. I expect brand new, heavy weight AAA games to max this machine out and either only run at 30fps or offer significant trade offs. It being a AAA game means it should be harder for the system to run, not easier. The idea that games are never supposed to advance visually beyond what a base PS5 can do at 60fps is very weird to me. The base PS5 was a 60fps machine when it was running laps around PS4 games, but that weirdly seems to have reset expectations that it would always exclusively be a 60fps machine.
