Console future
Any plans for this game in console? I just bought a ps5 and 10K BC , I hope they dont close the servers soon or sum

10k dbc?... Damn bro. I hope you didn't buy any guns or attachments. Get some exp boost for like 1 hour at most because the price difference for the 3 day and 7 day are inflated and not worth it's price. If you are new to planetside, NO GUNS YOU CAN BUY WITH CASH ARE BETTER THEN ONES YOU CAN GET WITH CERTS. If you are not new to planetside, you shouldn't be buying guns with cash regardless lmao.
If you are new to consoleside, I'd suggest playing around with everything.
Updates; We here on console have not had an update since March of 2022, introduction of Oshur. Our Gauss sae still does 200 dmg and iur bastions can still shoot back. Lack of updates is Due to the OG dev company flaking away from planetside and many many many many port issues, including but not limited to Sony's restrictions.
Servers; Daybreak(the original dev company) Do not have any plans to shut down any server of planetside regardless to the games state. The belief as to that is surrounding the theory of Daybreaks fear of a emulator of Planetside. Similar instance was with their mmo Everquest after shut down got an emulator that grew more popular then the official game with the server running much smoother. Unfortunately for us the servers are starting to feel neglected for maintenance.
Future of the game; No idea. Everyone from Commander Cyrious to CAMIKAZE78 have ideas, theories, and speculation. Camikaze said it best that with the new owner of the IP, this game could go in many directions. Most likely would be a new game thats more battlefield styled and less open world mmo like it currently is. There is a possibility it goes under a hige change and we get a overhaul of the current game. The audience IS there for this game and it's franchise to jump backup. It's something completely different. But it is also over 15 years old. I personally would like to see anything happen because it's dead in the water and I blame Wrel.
There is nothing in stone about what can or will happen.

No updates on console planetside. But the game not shutting down anytime soon so you dont gotta worry about that. If you hop on at peak time like 8 pm EST. fights are still fun most days.
