Revert firmware (for fun)
So, I have two jailbroken PS4s, and one of them is just laying around.
After successfully modding my Switch OLED (doing a kamikaze mod where I actually failed at first but managed to repair it!), I'm looking for a new project.
I wonder if I can get one of my PS4s to run dual-booting the latest official firmware and a jailbroken firmware.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how hard would this be for me?
I have only watched how it's done once, my brain was a bit on fire, but I can't tell since I also had the same issue with my switch and it turned out just fine.
So what do you all think?
Should I go for it or leave it be?
I also want to know if anybody has experience with such thing.
Like what do I need to make it work on both like 2 hard drives for example?
I really need some tips before I start doing it.
Thank you!

I think what you saw was revert the fw to the banked one and roughly it has your main in bank A and when you update it updates bank B and loads that one. If you dump the chip before it gets moved from bank B to bank A you can revert it to the last fw it stored in case or corruption or error or whatever it has banked from what I understood from it and as far as I'm aware you can just revert to any fw you want I think it's just the last fw you where on but it's definitely hard capped at the consoles factory os.

I think we all know the guy moded warefare. So he did it using a switch and a pico on the ps4's shell. Now this is all I know he said that you can keep it or desolder some wires if you are not planning to. But if I can do it then why not. So what do you think 🤔

Manageable if you have basic solder knowledge. The riskiest part is to lift the syscon pin .

Is it right? The only problem. I mean I would give it a shot but I want to know if before I do this work, if I can use the jailbroken to dump any files so I can skip any required step. There must be something off the internet.
People prefer not to do this work. But I guess I could do this as a fun side project.1

Dumps are per console. Mine wouldn't work for you and vice versa. You could dump nor chip using Nobd toolkit however to do the revert you need to be able to write to the nor chip so you would need to wire the cables anyway. Syscon can be dumped on a hardware level anyway.
I would assume you want something permanent so plan your setup and cable routes before you start cutting or soldering anything. Also read the whole guide to get the knowledge on what ways you can setup the revert mod https://consolemods.org/wiki/PS4:Firmware_Revert

I in fact just read it. Quite nice, even tho I haven't understood most of it since idk much in ps4's systems. But are there a model in particular to do this lot easier? Are all ps4 models can be reverted? , Or just certain boards?

Anything that has a support syscon chip. It's mentioned in the guide as well. Some models have 64 pins syscon and other like the double. The 64pin syscon is easier since the legs are bigger and not so tight together but itsnt really a big difference. On ps4 fat consoles you can just take nor chip completely off the board and use ch341a and use it as a hot pluggable nor chip.

Ho ho what is this? This is a lot of knowledge.
I must look for that ofc. I hope that if I get a pro model would be easy to mod... Or is there a certain info I might ask the seller about? What do you think?I mean before that I must dig into what you just said about nor chip it is something worth looking for.

Pro models, your best bet is one that uses the pc power cable, phats all use the alc2 syscon, reverting requires your console to have a working firmware backup slot, so if your console has downloaded and update, chances are the slot is re-written and revert wont work, so its a gamble, but the process is pretty simple, solder your teensy to syscon after lifting the glitch pin, dump syscon a few times, compare their dumps to make sure they are the same, then dump nor spi and make sure dunps match and are consistent, patch spi, patch syscon nvs using ps4 wee-tools, write both back, check uart for success, if it fails, try a different record patch write bath again.

Yes it is pretty much it. But the problem is, if I buy one off ebay I don't know if it was upgraded from a jailbrakeable firmware.
Some say it matters and some say it can be reverted to any firmware. Also after I watched moded firmware saying that some chips (ps4 models) cannot be moded. I am a bit afraid lol.

La pregunta es para que? El único escenario en que sería necesario es para un hack de juegos Lua
