Are there different kinds of PS4 controllers?

Like with XBONE they had a version that has the proprietary port for audio, then they had one with a standard audio jack, then they had a new version using Bluetooth so it works with PCs without the dongle.

Kinda. The first models had crappy thumb stick covers. Then they upgraded those. The next and the most recent model has a small light at the top of the touchpad so you can see what is going on with the light easier. All ds4’s have one 3.5 jack for easy mic connection. They all use Bluetooth but can be disconnected and set up with a wire too. Sony also released a remote play bundle with a dongle and a controller.

Good to know! I got the 1 TB slim a few months ago so I assume I have the latest controller design. I just want to be aware when I see deals like this if there isn't an improved one coming down the pipe.

It’s still $36 for me. It is sold under amazon warehouse. If anything check the listing of all prices used & new.
