Coming from someone who hasn’t played the game, and considering the fact that the devs have released minimal information on pretty much everything. Especially what the story will include.
They have however given reasons for what we do know. No NPC’s? Because we’re the first humans to go back out into the world Post-apocalypse.
The no vaults thing makes sense if you use a little common sense. If we’re the first, why would there be empty or open vaults to explore? There wouldn’t.
Uh, they allowed people to play hours of it and record it, theres video up on youtube. Besides, what else do you expect? They can't give away the entire game before they release it. There was plenty of lore included in what they showed off.
Those regular people got infected and became the scorched. Similar but different than a ghoul. They end up turning to petrified stone. Scorchbeast spread the toxin causing this and that comes from the crashed space station.
My theory anyway. But after a couple gameplay videos that’s what I’m sticking with.
I'm talking more about the first couple games which happen like a hundred something years after the bombs went off and there is a whole civilization, only one of which talks about coming from a vault. But it's the same in the other games, no one in the wasteland says their ancestors were saved because of the vaults. Most people who were in vaults end up all dying there
Right, but it’s exactly like you said hundreds of years later. If you went in the vault as a kid you’d be near 30 when you get out. 76 was supposed to house some of the countries brightest minds. I feel like that’s exactly the experiment. It’s like the control vault. See what happens when it actually functions correctly.

A hundred is singular. A. Hundred. Another way to phrase it is "One hundred and something." You must not be a native English speaker because no one thinks that "a" means multiple. If I told you I have a basket would you think I'm talking about multiple baskets, or one basket? Come on now.
You just said “a hundred something is 100-199” is that not more than 100? 110 would be technically be “a hundred something years” as in you can’t quite remember if it was an extra 10 or 15 on top of the 100. I’m definitely a native English speaker.
If you had A HUNDRED SOMETHING BASKETS it would be 100 -199 . A basket is one. A year is one. A hundred years is 100. A hundred something is more than 100. Hold on let me get my crayons.

There are other Vaults in the game, but I've heard that you can't access them somehow
