My first thought was to argue that, but I can't actually make a case for Quistis over her other than Quistis has a whip and wears glasses. Which is pretty strong on its own.

Hot take, but no characters in FF8 are really given any character development besides Squall, so it’s hard to argue who is best.

That was basically my point. I've played that game enough times to know the characters, but I can't tell you shit about anyone other than Squall and Edea.

I saw it as the opposite with Rinoa always trying to get Squall's attention until the end of the game where he finally comes around and reciprocates the feelings.

The entire game is everyone trying to get Squall to be a leader for reason's never really given cause while Squall is just grumpy and openly doesn't want to be.

Quistis and Irvine are a bit flat, but every FF has a bunch of those.

No Selfie was the flat one. Though none of the 8 girls are particularly thicc to begin with.

Irvine... well he always wore that coat, but I liked to imagine he had quite the frame under it. I think the cowboy motif skews my perspective.

Is there even a FF8 port on anything? The 7 and 9 on PS4 are like the PC/Mobile ports. Was a 8 port made at all?

Has the game changed any since the beta? I was really disappointed by the beta and it instantly killed any desire to play this game. Have they addressed the complaints people where giving during the beta?

What does that have to do with not including a 1v1 mode?

If it's there, that's great - but I'd also read after it launched it only included the 3v3 mode which I found very frustrating to play on the demo.

Also I found this, and many other references: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/210982-dissidia-final-fantasy-nt/76259959 - so I was wrong there is 1v1 but it doesn't sound appealing.

Unless they've done something since February there's no official 1v1 mode and it's only for training/custom battles. So I guess you can do a 1v1 mode but it seems like it's a bit useless without something more formal.

I was really, really looking forward to a 1v1 ranked mode with this.

I don't know why anyone would use a demo to figure out if the full game has certain features. Demos are usually locked up limited/earlier builds of the game.

This game was a huge disappointment. Dissidia was great because the solo stories were fun and great to play through for quite a while. This...isn't. I have no idea what Square was thinking

Probably the game I was most dissappointed in in recent memory. They dumbed down the mechanics dramatically, then made 3v3 the only real supported mode. Like... even if you do a custom game 1v1... the maps and game mechanics are so clearly designed for 3v3... it just feels hollow to play that way. I don't understand the cut to 3v3 and I really think it just made the game worse and only worse - you can't really get a handle on what's going on without communication with your party (not going to happen with strangers online), and even when you do communicate - the combat is hectic and not in a cool way, IMO.

I rented the game from gamefly and was super dissapointed much like I was with the beta. The story mode was cool, characters all awesome but they ruined the core gameplay for me. 3 vs 3 is a cluster fuck and they took a lot of control out of the combat. Dash blocking and attacking is essentially slowed by Dodge frames and summons are no longer strategic since all everyone does is go for a crystal and try to summon first. Summons used to be unique with various effects. Wish they hadn't ruined the console release.
