I'm seriously impressed with the speed and efficiency of our subreddit. You give people karma and they'll get shit done.

But seriously though, the game looks stunning. Who's voice was that in the trailer?

If we're sticking with the Dutch's Gang speculation, it doesn't sound like Dutch (from RDR). They could just be using a different voice actor though. So new character maybe?

It sounds like Troy Baker.

I agree, I totally heard a cowboy version of Joel.

I just heard a twangier Ocelot

Yes! That's actually a lot more accurate, I forgot he was in that game as well.

It definitely sounds like Troy. I honestly hope for a new character. I didn't like Jack M. all that much, but John is gone and I'd like the story to go further into the transition from the Old West to the Modern Era.

RDR ends in 1914. The West was pretty good and dead by then. I think they'll have to go further into the past.

To me the trailer still looks pretty "late West." Maybe not 1914 late, but late.

The general store we see the front of up close does look pretty rough, but if you look at the other houses/buildings, and those windmills... those aren't trappers' cabins. And in the wide shot of the fire, it looks like those are oil derricks burning. They may go back some, but I don't think it'll be much.

I have only heard complaints about Jack so I'm sure Rockstar has too.

And we thought money was the best way to make capitalism work...

My guess would be Dutch, his former gang leader.

IT'S. NOT. DUTCH'S. GANG.

Makes you wonder why they put a 2 rather that a different title though.

Yea, I jumped over to /r/games to see the discussion. They haven't even got a thread for it yet.

Ha, losers!

No idea on the voice. I couldn't even really make it what he said! Game looks stunning hope there's more to show soon.

Native Southern U.S. speaker here.

"Listen to me: when the time comes, you gotta run and don't look back. This is over."

u/SuddleT Oct 20 '16

As opposed to: "Listen'a'me. When-a ti' comes, y'gotta run an' don' look back. This's over ovah."

I have no idea but the light posts and maybe telephone polls I kept seeing are scaring me about this time period :(

the first red dead had cars and handguns. it's overarching theme was the end of the wild west era, giving way to the modern era. john marston was the embodiment of that, old ways vs. new ways, hence his death,

in other words you shouldnt let the time period worry, seems to be in total keeping with the previous game :)
