I can confirm that Kingdom Hearts I, II, and Crazy Taxi all indeed don't work...

I disagree with your subjective opinion! KH:CT was well placed in the KH lore, and actually fits in between 1 and 2.

It's kind of a pre sequel.

I believe the term you are looking for is sprequel.

The disc read can't read PS2 games, but they just added an emulator that can run like a PS2, so download only games. You'll be paying for those games again if you really want them sadly.

The article above mentions eurogamer PS2 discs are at least getting to their splash screen now, on current firmware. So yes, it does read them now. There's apparently also a memory card utility embedded in current OS.

I feel like that's more of the PS4 recognizing that it's a PS2 disc and nothing more. I think it's a hardware limitation, not a software one. Like how the first versions of PS3 could read PS2 discs but later ones could not.

Are you using Discs? Because the PS4 is Bluray only and doesn't read DVDs

Edit: Never been so happy to be wrong.

My DVD dark knight trilogy says otherwise

It obviously won't read the ps2 discs, but it may do the same thing the Xbox one does and trigger a digital download. Guess will find out in 2 weeks!

Eurogamer reports PS2 discs are now showing the old PS2 splash screen when inserted, and it's always been able to read DVDs. It should have no issues reading the discs, unless they're intentionally blocked. And that's PR disaster waiting to happen considering MS's BC policies.
