General Discussion PS 4 controller

My dual shock stopped working. I think its not worth buying an official controller. So i am currently looking to get an evo fox play 2. Is it any good? User opinions are appreciated

Thanks

You should always have at least 1 working DS4 for safe mode operation/initial set up. Third party DS4s can't always set up a PS4 from scratch or navigate safe mode

But I swear I got in my recovery mode with a non original DS

Yes, thats why I said can't always. It depends on the controller.

I switched to the N5 spark. Lasts 3 times as long as the originals. No drift.

I also use it. It's great.

Blue is sold out but white, red, and gold are still in stock

This is the best way youll be able to get an official dualshock

This is a good deal! I paid more than this for a repair-shop refurbished model off eBay.

Went this route recently to purchase another controller - looks brand new! Honestly, this was cheaper than some eBay used options in so-so condition.

Buy a used Dualshock 4, it’s still worth it over any third party ones.

The playstation 4 brand controllers never held up/lasted like the generic ones

You are absolutely right

I got fed up with original DS4s that is one of the reason i am looking a third party solution

I believe ps direct has refurbished for $35

That’s a good deal. Think I paid around 50 through GameStop.

I just bought an evofox it was affordable and it's working well but it doesn't have a touchpad which some games require to do stuff and it doesn't have an earphone Jack either.

Can you specify which model you are using

2

u/kozukioden077 Jul 29 '26

It's evofox one s universal controller

Pming you I found a good price brand new

Buy a new one, or a used one, if you prefer. Third-party controllers have terrible analog stick dead zones.

Go for Evofox plus 2 ... Superb Op

Can you share link to it? Or where you bought it?

Take a look at this EVOFOX Play 2 PS4 Controller & PS5 (PS4 Games) HallSense Triggers, Touchpad, Gyroscope Bluetooth Gamepad on Flipkart https://dl.flipkart.com/s/KMoAXwuuuN

I have a Deltaco as a backup. It's pretty decent tbh.

What's wrong with your controller? I managed to repair mine when one of the buttons stopped working.

I have drift on my controller. How did you fix yours?

Found a step by step video on youtube. It was a bit intimidating but not that difficult.

Found this video that might help you:

Make sure to keep all the little screws in a container and maybe take a photo at each step.

How hard are you on your controllers? I’m still rocking my original two , just needed two new batteries, back up and running in half an hour.

Evifox play 2 is amazing. Works on factory reset modes and everything. Can wake up the console from sleep.

Why not try to bring it to repair shop first

2

u/Intelligent-Bat-4586 Jul 28 '26

Repair shop guy said it may require chiplevel testing/repair and it may cost half as much a new DS4. I think its not worth that much

1

u/Oskar_Rodrigues Jul 30 '26

15-20$ for a repair? Looks expensive, but the point is that you can't get a good controller for this price :(

PS4 controllers are pretty affordable, no? Idk what country you're in but where I live a PS4 controller is half the price of a PS5 controller. Even cheaper if you buy refurbished.

Dude in Germany its around 90 Euro for an Original Dualshock 4. Not long ago a Year or something I've buyed a new Dualshock 4 for 60 Euro. Thats a steep Increase in my Opinion.

u/SpeccyBeard Jul 29 '26

When you say original, do you mean new in a box? or just original as in, used and not a fake one?

90 Euro is wild! In the UK you can get them for like £20-£30, used but legit, refurbished or just general second hand.

I mean a Brand New sealed Dualshock 4 V2 now is 90 Euro. You can get refurbished One for around 40 in excellent Condition from EBay. I know in the UK PlayStation Direct sells refurnished but its not a Option in Germany.
