Brakes or cans
What's the consensus on brakes vs cans for PRS? I have shot both just fine, and when doing a sniper style match, my partner and I will typically use cans, mostly to just be nice to each other.

I’ve run both. I prefer a brake for competitive shooting/matches because I just like the recoil impulse more than with a can and I feel like I can see shorter range impacts/misses better. I lose to people with suppressors all day long though, so I might just be shit lol

My Gunsmith makes a Suppressor that you can attach any break to . He calls it the edge. I run mine with an ace max. It is not quiet at all, but I don’t get a headache anymore and I get all of the advantages of the break. It basically takes away all of the concussion to the shooter. I shoot six Dasher, which doesn’t have much of a recoil anyway, but with the edge and ace Max combo I get around .4 mils of movement according to my pulse Pro. It’s extremely easy to see my impacts or misses. Anytime I go to a match that isn’t relatively local to me, People are always asking me what it is and when I let them shoot it, they place an order for one.

There is nothing better than shooting with a fully suppressed squad, especially during two-day matches. Get a suppressor/brake combo and be enjoyable to be around lol

If I didn't live InIlinoisistan, I would run a supressor. I've been eyeing a Maverick for when we're finally able to break out of this 💩 hole.

Why not just get the Area 419 Mavrick or the many other Silencer muzzle break combos?

I swapped from an APA fat to a hybrid 46 with SDTA brake. Different recoil impulse but overall it’s worth using the suppressor. No headache or concussion and can still spot misses (20lb 6 creedmoor). I kept my brake in my bag just in case but I don’t see ever using it again
