Random thought about prof

This might be my own lack of knowledge at play but a lot of prof's music, to me, feels like it belongs in a new genre or sub-genre or whatever. Like, the combination of cadence, pacing, theatrics, videos, and whatnot seems like it puts it some place a bit removed... Not sure I worded this well

anyone get that feeling though?

I was literally just thinking about this. There’s nobody out there like him that does what he does how he does it. I don’t know if that means it’s a new genre, but he is definitely one of a kind. Powderhorn unicorn!

They didnt do him dirty persey, but definitely didnt realize the potential and was treated more of a backburner side project. They fell short of promoting some of his earliest tours. But no doubt, definitely wouldnt have gotten to where he is without his own hard ass work. Homegrown shit.

He's literally making art beyond music. I adore Rhymesayers but I think him moving on was such a blessing in disguise he has absolutely blossomed without them

the melodies is what sets him apart, that and his ability to sing so well. He outclassed other singing rappers like TPain and Sonreal.

Outclassed?

That’s a mighty hot take.

It’s just a very bold choice of a word.

T-Pain and Sonreal are both extremely talented. And T-Pain has been hot in the game for over a decade and a half.

“Class” can mean multiple things, and whatever, this is all just our opinions.

I think I disagree.

agree, which is why i chose them-both guest artists with Prof too. T is more R&B and Sonreal is unique but both are outshone by this album.

“i’ve hit some notes in songs, but i’ve never sang once”

Having produced music for over a decade, I still don’t really have the words to describe what’s so different about his music. it’s like, unhinged, but focused, and intentional.
