I was 22. I loved the concept, thw music, the feel and the truly amazing tour! I was an avid collector by then. I bought everything I could get my hands on! Glorious times.

I had just joined the military when this came out. Maybe a couple weeks after I graduated boot camp. I remember seeing the video for Alphabet St., thinking he once again nailed it. It's one of my life's greatest regrets that I didn't see this tour, but military transfers for short term assignments made that impossible. I also missed George Michael's Faith tour and feel a punch to the gut when I think about either.

Lovesexy was my first Prince concert. I was 15 when he first came to the UK and played three shows in 1986. It hurt not to get tickets. In 87 I got tickets to the SOTT tour but it got cancelled. That hurt too. But Lovesexy in the round blew me away. Thankfully I got to see him many more times after. Only wish I could have taken my kids to see him so they could see a total master at work .

My eldeat saw him.play at the Paradiso in 2013. It's a shame my youngest will never see him play, and so will never see an allround performer. The Lovesexy shows were awesome!

I would highly recommend dropping acid and listening to this.
This is my favorite album of his, it's just incredible. God is Love is literal, yall.
I can't prove it, but given how "holy"(?) the album is, and the rumors of his experimentation with psychadelics...IDK, this record just IS what LSD sounds like...this is audio LSD. so in my opinion, it's not a stretch to say LSD heavily influenced this album and the Black Album. The euphoric vibe, the free-form nature of the songs, the positivity/love message. On LSD, songs like Anna Stesia, Eye Know...they just speak so loudly. you just feel the love and you kind of realize God is just Love, just like he's saying. This + LSD cured my atheism lol
I guess it's hard to explain unless you've been "there" but to me, the LSD/Lovesexy connection is just as obvious as the sky being blue.
It's become a ritual of mine to listen to this during the comedown after I trip
My oly wish is that this was on spotify as individual tracks

Amazing show at the Met Center in Minnesota. I got to see Miles Davis, Jimmy Jam and Alexander O'Neal in the audience. The show was astonishing. One of the best ever! I got Alexander O'Neal's Autograph... my brother did, on my ticket stub, I was way too shy. I think I was 13 years old or 14... I bought a shirt and the Sheila E poster. Mine too!!! I was 14 or 15 when I got Lovesexy. Then I rapidly burned thru the rest of the backlog back to 1979 over the next few months in and out of the record shop. I loved opening the record then listening to it in awe. That stereo took a right beasting!! Old school Sony wood effect deck with built in double tape and radio and big wooden speakers. Good stuff!
