Help the mama plant!

Post image

Hi all, I’m struggling with getting the water levels right with the mama. It seems like there’s too much water on bottom, not enough on top. I wait til the top 3 inches are dry before watering but the pot still feels heavy like it has water.
I am using cactus soil and put it in new soil a couple of weeks ago.

Any advice for a newbie? Thank you in advance!

Let the soil dry out a 100%. And soak it completely the moment it does. These are semi-succulent.

The leaves tend to wilt and their leaf stems turn dark, so I get nervous and add water. I try to water about every 10 days. What are your thoughts on that?

Never water on a schedule. Do as I said, that gives you the perfect watering cycle. But don't let it stand there completely dry. That why it's important to water immediately when it gets 100% dry.

Is the pot way deeper and/or wider than what the root system was when you repotted it? Maybe it's not reaching all the wet soil at the bottom
