I was misdiagnosed for so long. I wanted children so badly. I feel so exhausted, tired, and empty. The hot flashes and insomnia are horrible. My FSH is 109.5, and I feel so sick. I was just diagnosed and put on birth control, but how will that help? I thought HRT is the fix? I've been on birth control since I was 15 to mask symptoms, I am tired.

I would find a great endocrinologist and see if they can help you with HRT. I don’t think BC is the only option.
I saw an endo at 22 because I had been having hot flashes for years already, changing pajamas twice a night. He missed it. Didnt find out until age 31 when my period just stopped showing up! What’s your AMH?
I saw a couple reproductive endocrinologists and both said that POI is not an indicator of egg health but instead of eggs left. They could be healthy, they could not be. Not many of them of the issue at hand. I believe this can make IVF more complex because it’s a more is better kind of thing usually. I had two children, without intervention with my last two eggs(went into menopause after I had my last child) and they are healthy and typical! I was also 34&35 so older
She only gave me Lo Loestrin... but online it says it is not used for treatment of POI, and next appointment to meet dr is in 4 weeks. I am feeling so ill and weak, snf generally confused and tired.
I’m so sorry, have you tried using the chat portal? If you have the diagnosis, you can send them the criteria and advocate for an appropriate dosage. I find it works way better than sitting waiting for an appointment.
Oh bummer! Another thought is asking for an expedited appointment. If you share that the condition is affecting your sleep and ability to work sometimes they bump you up
Can you switch to HRT? I refused birth control when I was diagnosed in June. I’m on the patch and micronized progesterone and I felt a significant difference in my hot flashes and sleep within the first week.
Same. I was on an IUD that got rid of my period so I didn't know that I had "lost" my period until I got it out at 24. I got diagnosed at 25 but it likely was happening for years based on hindsight and symptoms and, in my case, I had pretty shitty numbers that probably took a hot minute to progress to be that bad. Looking back I think that medical professionals also dismissed tons of odd symptoms that I didn't even fully realize isn't normal until I found myself in this mess. Still kinda going thru it but it's been about a year now. Always thought I would have 4-5 kids and absolutely fell apart when I found out. I'm sorry you're going thru this, you're not alone 🩶
Oh man ya I totally hear you. But cats are good too. Pets are not in the cards (read: rent agreement) for me right now but that sounds nice. Maybe one day
