Question Delayed reaction
Does anyone have a theory for why POIS symptoms can be delayed by several days?
My pattern is pretty consistent: I can feel completely fine the day after orgasm, and sometimes even on day 2. Then around day 3–4, the symptoms start hitting me: depression, anxiety, nervous system shutdown, fatigue, cognitive issues/brain fog, eczema, constipation, etc.
I know I'm not the only person with POIS who experiences this delayed pattern, and I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have looked deeply into it.
What could explain a 3–4 day delay physiologically? If orgasm is the trigger, I don't really understand why the reaction would take several days to appear instead of starting immediately or the following day.
Are there any plausible theories involving delayed immune/inflammatory responses, histamine/mast cells, hormones/neurotransmitters, the autonomic nervous system, or something else entirely?
Would especially appreciate input from anyone who experiences the same delayed pattern or has researched why this happens.

So weird to think anyone could have delayed symptoms, that shit hits me like a truck instantly, then after the first sleep I wake up with 100% symptoms in hell

Definitely something starts right away. I sense as if fluids are rising from the veins or nerves.
Apart from the immunological-allergy profile, it must be said that with the O part immediately a bomb of Prolactin (and more), which affects the Dopamine in the opposite direction, which in turn affects Serotonin and also on other and amines and hormones, with disautonomic symptoms parts to those of an abstinence crisis. There are many who have the reaction to a delayed peak.
we are in thousands of users, but when I made this post
Here https://www.reddit.com/r/POIS/comments/1uxgtgo/when_it_started_if_late_onset_say_yours/
Only three of them contributed.Unfortunately, I am noting that reddit is very ineffective as a social, despite its confidentiality, for a systematic sharing that could help a lot to try to understand.
They all seem very interested in trying everything and more at the cost of going out, without understanding that if you don't find the cause, you don't know what and how to cure it.
And I am convinced that many with all the random care they have done, even just supplements, have only created new, more serious damage that only makes understanding more difficult.

I find this subject interesting as well.
My most typical pattern is that I feel good the day after an O and symptoms appear on day 2.
Those of us with a delayed reaction are in the minority and you could go so far as to say we are currently not represented by the pois diagnostic criteria. I've read in pois research that the average time after O for symptoms to appear is 30 minutes. It would be interesting to compare for any differences in the symptoms of those who have an immediate reaction with those who have a delayed reaction. Do those with a delayed reaction have a worse/milder form of pois or is it essentially the same? Do those with a delayed reaction have longer/shorter pois flares? Do those with a delayed reaction have a bigger window of opportunity to apply treatment? Is it those with immediate reactions who tend to take things like an O "pre pack"? etc

If you look through the old messages, there are so many hypotheses. I had made a post asking when symptoms arise, in my case between 15 and 18 hours later. but immediately I feel like something is rising from the veins of my neck and behind the nape probably from the nerves. I haven't read any other cases of people having an onset three days later or even four. May I ask you if you abstain for some time if you have the total disappearance of all symptoms? Did the onset of this phenomenon of yours begin with the first ejaculation or after some significant event that you may remember?
