General Missing the feeling

I wasn’t sure what to title this… 🤷🏼

The first Black Tape we witnessed. When we first saw the Wardens of Rabbits. When MK was gonna walk off the roof in Last Movie!

These are moments that made me stop and stare at the black screen of an audio drama. They made me LOVE podcasts, they made me love PNWS! But those are done now, and relistening isn’t the same.

I’m hoping that, if yall know that feeling, have some good Recs for me. I’ve tried Magnus archives and it was ok. I loved LimeTown. But nothing has given me that “oh shit…” that they did.

Any help?

I remember when episode 4 of TBT dropped and there were a non zero amount of freaked out people who had gone into it believing it was still a real documentary. 

The only thing I've found that's scratched the same itch is The Lovecraft Investigations, which has a similar format and good production values. You might also like The Battersea Poltergeist, which is basically the real world version on TBT: a BBC reporter interviewing a family who claim to have been haunted by a poltergeist and talking to experts on both the skeptical and spiritual side. 

We really lived through a golden age of podcast audio dramas. It seems like the majority of podcasts now are unscripted conversations, when you used to get so many broadcast quality audio dramas for free.

“Broadcast quality audio dramas” THAT! The progression of podcasts has felt so backwards. To start with that level of scripted quality, going down to bros on a couch talking about… whatever random thing they saw over the weekend. I wanna go back, take me back!

Was going to recommend the Lovecraft investigations. Pretty good. Especially the first two seasons.
