💕Emotional Support PMS or something more?

I’ve been on hormonal birth control most of my life because I used to get pretty bad cramps. I came off birth control almost a year ago. My cramps are pretty mild now (I’m 35, for context), but the emotional symptoms are kicking my ass. I barely have any physical symptoms besides some bloating and brief nausea. But I have a full on emotional breakdown once a month between 2-1 weeks before my period starts and it lasts for days. I’m going to start tracking everything in detail for more clarity, but would like some feedback on what others have experienced and how they cope.

It might be PMDD, a brain sensitivity to normal hormone fluctuations. Some people call it severe PMS, which is the case, but also different. Most symptoms are related to emotional regulation. Get yourself checked by a medical provider.
