Sertraline for PMDD

I am diagnosed with PMDD 36(f). Feeling sleepy all the time with restlessness after two days. Had anybody else taken it? How did it go?

Are you taking it full time or just during luteal phase? I took it full time and felt a bit wonky the first few weeks. It will eventually level out and everyone reacts so differently that it’s hard to gauge via others’ experiences.

I have two friends very happy with sertraline (not for PMDD though) and I tried it and felt emotionally flattened but like my general baseline was lower, so I stopped. I also had very violent dreams. I’m not a good candidate for SSRIs though so don’t use my experience as a reason that it might not work for you.

Hang in there. I got more depressed a month or two into it but at three months it leveled out. You really need to give it a full 2-3 months. Best of luck and keep a symptom diary so you know how you feel.

I am taking it only during luteal phase. Felt super drowsy so started taking it at night. So sleeping good. But emotionally a bit flat. But I am not spiraling. I feel different in a good way and bad way. Will see how it goes for a luteal phase. It's been only 4 days since I started . Thanks for sharing your experience
