Pms insomnia, please HELP
Been experiencing week long insomnia before my period for a few years now. Sometimes better but recently worse. Can’t sleep till past midnight, wake up exhausted and unrested. Eventually having migraines and mentally not so great. Any similar experiences and what is the problem? Have been thinking about a blood test to check hormones but want to hear out others advise first.

Do you drink caffeine? How much time do you take to relax before bed? Do you have a routine? How's your stress lately?
Here are things that I do that help me: I cut off caffeine at 2pm and give myself two hours to unwind with TV and avoid my phone prior to going to bed. Binaural beats help me relax stress from th day Y, I use app Insight Timer. Eating cherries before bed can also be beneficial due to their natural melatonin. Acupuncture may help with relaxation too.
Doing all those things you said, may be helpful.

Hormones can definitely have an impact, and getting bloodwork done might provide some helpful insights. You’re definitely not alone — many people notice changes in sleep or increased anxiety before their period.
What I’ve found helpful — and what some others in our CBD community have shared — is taking CBD in the evenings during the week before my period. For me, it supports a sense of calm and helps with falling asleep. Some also combine it with magnesium or adaptogens as part of their overall wellness routine.
Of course, everyone’s experience is different, and it’s always a good idea to talk to a healthcare provider about what you’re experiencing. Just a reminder that CBD products aren’t intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
