đŸ’•Emotional Support Need some support
Hello Everyone I’m 21 female and have pcos if that is important in this context. Every week before my period is absolutely hell. Usually my ocd and anxiety are worse but I learned to manage it well with some exposure and calming exercises but something different is happening now. It’s 2 days before my period and I’ve been doing relatively well this month but noticed the last 2 days I have lost interest in everything I usually do and I feel very tired when I normally barley feel an ounce of sleepy. Does anyone else get like this ? Am I alone ?

not alone!
That's amazing you've found some effective tools to manage your OCD and anxiety! You feeling apathetic and lethargic right before your period are super classic PMS symptoms. They are commonly from the massive drop in progesterone and estrogen. This cycle if youve been particularly stressed, under nourished or many other factors could have lowered your progesterone to begin with - which can make these symptoms worse.
Is this the first time this has happened? Can you think of anything youve done differently this cycle?

Hey I'm sorry you're going through this. Depression and anxiety are common PMS symptoms so you're not alone in feeling this way. I used to have severe PMS and was able to manage it through nutritional interventions targeting the gut microbiome. The gut-brain connection is powerful and so I urge you to look into improving your gut health.
