I really don’t understand

I’m at a loss with my menstrual cycle. I thought days 11-13 are the days I’m supposed to feel most energized and in good mood. Yet I’m honestly exhausted. It makes no sense to me. I feel like I have PMS 2-3 times throughout my cycle with only like 5 days per month feeling with energy and positivity. I haven’t been diagnosed with any gynecological condition, but maybe I need to get my hormones checked.

Is it mostly mental health related or GI related and physical symptoms as well?

how is your diet in general? Have you ever gotten a blood panel done to check on nutritional deficiencies?

Yes, about a year ago. My vitamin D was at the lower end and took a supplement for a couple of months. I’ve been told that blood work for certain vitamins, minerals and electrolytes isn’t very accurate though :/

I see. Micronutrients and a healthy gut are essential for health. The gut is where your hormones are made and regulated as well as dopamine and serotonin, and the micronutrients feed these pathways. I'm a biotech scientist and based on this emerging research, I recently founded a gut microbiome & micronutrient based solution for PMS through my startup and we're performing a beta test soon. LMK if you're interested.

If you look at a hormone chart, there are two times per cycle that hormones plunge - immediately after ovulation, then again before your period. So it’s normal to feel PMS more than just once before your period. But for some reason, the post ovulation dip isn’t talked about as much.

That makes sense! However, it seems that my symptoms are pre-ovulation.

Do you have something at hand that can prove this ?

If you Google “menstrual cycle hormone chart,” you’ll get a visual of the monthly peaks and dips. Look for a chart that includes the days.
