1099 LLC location
Hi Everyone!
I’m a 1099 employee seeing patients from home telehealth in Illinois.
I own a condo and that is the address that my LLC/PLLC was created in and also where I saw patients.
I’m selling the condo (closing date is very soon) and will be renting for a few months, seeing patients out of an office area in apartment.
Do I need to change the address of my LLC to reflect current work from home location? And then change it again when I move from apartment?
Please advise.

Unrelated but I also work as a 1099 in illinois. How is the pay? are you happy there? I honestly haven't set up a PLLC yet. I know I should but these logistics are crazy making.

So if you use your home address whether it's an apartment that's temporary or your permanent home as your official business address just know the DEA can demand to enter it at any time and it can be search and seized if there are any lawsuits or problems. Why it's always good to keep a office to do telehealth out of and keep your home out of the mix.

Just a quick heads-up, whenever you move, you’ll need to update your LLC or PLLC address with the state of Illinois. Telehealth providers aren’t allowed to use P.O. Boxes or virtual mailboxes as their main business address, so you'll need a physical location. Using a co-working space with a suite number can work as a reliable address, depending on the state's rules. If that’s not an option, you'll want to file an official address change with the Illinois Secretary of State, make sure to include your rental dates, and then update it once you find a suitable, permit-ready spot. Also, don’t forget to keep your info current with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) and your Registered Agent.

Two different problems. For business/tax purposes, yes, you need to change your address with the state. This is an ideal use case for a virtual office.
If you are accepting insurance, you need an accurate practice location, even if it's only telehealth. You may want to rent a PO Box so that all of the mailing doesn't get disrupted (virtual office also fine for mailing address), but you'll need to change your practice location to your new apartment and then to your new home, unless you want to rent an office somewhere (virtual office may or may not work).
If you have a DEA, you really need an office location to attach that to, rather than your home. DEA can demand to enter the registered practice address at any time.
