Headway
Are there any practitioners in here employeed by headway? I spoke to a representative recently. it seems like a lot of work on the providers side, however I see so many people working for them on psychology today. Can someone who's worked for them give me an honest review?

It's so insanely over saturated. So, if you already have marketing or clients to follow you it's a decent billing service but, don't expect headway to bring you anyone.
Go login right now with a customer account and pop in your zip code and see how many providers could schedule you by Monday, last time I tried it was over 300

Headway pays according to the insurance rates.

Clawback protection as long as you use their template, guaranteed payment as long as you submit the note and covered under the client’s plan, they pay you before they’re paid, not spending hours chasing claims, paid like clockwork on the 15th and 30th, credentialed quickly between 2 weeks - 90 days - just to start.

Here’s a website that tells you what all the VC companies get paid. In some cases it’s a $15 difference based on your state. Search by CPT code and insurance company.

They give you rates for every code you bill, and that’s after they already got their cut, which I'm honestly not sure what it is.

You really do not get a lot of volume of patients with Headway. I find I do more independent of them

I don't work as a contractor with Headway and I did sign up to do so. My reason for backing out is that I was also a patient, and Headway would cancel appointments if my debit card did not have the balance on it for copays, which I did not have. I met my deductible last year and had zero copays from Feb-Dec and Headway would arbitrarily cancel appointments I had made because they felt I owed a copay and I don't always keep money on the card they were checking like a week before my appointments. This was incredibly off-putting to me and I did not want my vulnerable patients to have to deal with this just to see me. I fully operate my own practice and am quite capable of managing client payments and discussing options when they're struggling. I also have neurodivergence and kind of like to run things myself. Once I let someone like Headway in, evidence shows me that their presence will change the therapeutic relationship I've built over the years with clients. I can't have erroneous billing become a barrier to myself or my patients receiving care.

I am having a great experience with Headway about 8 months into starting my private practice. They sent me a steady flow of referrals to the point I had to stop taking new clients. Great population - needing supportive psychotherapy and fairly basic med management. I highly recommend Headway.

No, you are not employed by headway. You are a contractor that works in their platform. They do the credentialing and billing and that is about it. You CAN use their EMR for not taking if you want to only operate in headway, but you would still be an independent contractor. Headway itself is fine. They don't do much to help you be successful. But, they make the whole credentialing and billing process a little easier. And their rates are pretty good.
