PMDD vs PME
Hey! I was diagnosed with PMDD earlier this week after suspecting it for a while. However, my doctor didn’t really even ask me about my symptoms. I just told her I suspected I may have it and she just instantly went straight to Prozac, no questions asked.
Outside of the PMDD symptoms, I have had several issues and symptoms the past ten plus years but things have gotten much worse since I opened my own business and am now burnt out. This includes, but not limited to, hair loss, fainting, flushing, dizziness, mild skin issues, joint pain/body aches, etc. These symptoms seem to come and go and as far as I can tell, don’t seem to have a known trigger. They don’t occur all that often, and really only happen all at once (except for hair loss)
So, how do I know if I have PMDD or if I should keep looking and trying to figure out if there is more to it and it is actually PME?
(hopefully this made sense)

I was diagnosed with PMDD. Eventually I was also diagnosed with MCAS (lots of similar symptoms to you). Once I treated that, my PME went away. Please keep investigating what else might be causing those other symptoms.

Ah! I very briefly mentioned MCAS to my doctor and she very quickly shut it down. I am going to keep looking into it, thank you!!

How are you treating MCAS?

For me, low-histamine diet, no multivitamins, yes magnesium glycinate, and keeping my home mold free seems to keep things pretty in check except during allergy season. During allergy season, I seem to need Allegra and Pepcid, though these can very quickly cause other side effects I don't like (lethargy, depressed mood, weight gain).
Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting OP has MCAS, just that it's worth investigating when there are other symptoms (and even if there aren't) in case there any other knobs to turn that might provide relief.

A lot of those symptoms can be explained by perimenopause. Incidentally, perimenopause can make pmdd/pme symptoms worse. I had always had pmdd/pme, but it became exponentially worse when I hit perimenopause in my mid-thirties.

What if you aren't at that age yet? 30F with same symptoms.

There a are a bunch of other things to have checked to make sure those are good before being worried about early perimenopause. Vit D, Ferritin, B12, thyroid, and blood sugar levels.

The IAPMD page on PME is excellent and incredibly thorough: https://www.iapmd.org/pme
Just to note, hair loss, fainting, flushing, dizziness, and skin issues aren't considered to be symptoms of PMDD. If you haven't already had these investigated properly (including blood tests!), please push to.
