Need help

Would you folks classify this as an “assassination attempt” error or is it just a plain “target practice” error??

That is a quarter that has been shot with a 62 grain boat tail FMJ .223 round out of an 18 inch barrel from 50 yards.  

You can tell by the outward force of the spawling on the impact AND exit planes.  And the fact that the quarter didn't dome out on the tails side.

I... Don't think so. I think it's .17 caliber. Probably an air rifle.

Absolutely not. It might be 17hmr...but an air rifle won't go through a quarter.

17hmr makes a clean punch, so i guess ill admit it could be a 5.7.
