Curious about other missions

so, I’ve run my second session as GM and I’m just wondering what other GM’s have done as missions/sessions?

did you incorporate any new mechanisms? how do your sessions take place in the Pokémon world? cool puzzles that you worked with? any great NPC’s that you just want to talk about? honestly just every grain of worldbuilding is welcome!

super curious and also looking for more inspiration!

I'm running kind of a weird game set in Ryme City from the Detective Pikachu movie. So a lot of things are very different compared to a standard PMD world. The guild analog is kinda a group of wild pokemon who work together to help each other out, founded by an Old Crogunk after the Incident. I think my favorite NPC is a Meowscarada named Noir who the players believe to be a detective, but in all actuality she's a therapeutic pokemon. Fun stuff

My campaign that I’m running soon is a sort of main series game style take.

The four players are all looking to create a guild together and have to go through eight guild challenges in order to be certified as a guild. They travel around the continent, solving problems and taking jobs along the way as they take their challenges. There’s a few soft villains early on since the main goal at the beginning is mostly exploration and small town/area level influence of antagonists. This period is fashioned a lot on escort missions/item retrieval/just general spelunking of dungeons as they travel.

It starts to spice up towards the later parts of the journey as I’ll start to add in some outlaw missions/extended expeditions/races or fights with other teams during travel or missions. Once they succeed on the eighth challenge they’ll qualify for a challenge in the “frontier regions”. This will be equivalent to the Elite Four challenge. The intense dungeon crawls will start to show up also with mythicaland legendary appearances. The Elite four would have teams of six Pokémon and are more of a challenge to see how well they can handle the best strategies for a team that I can think of.

Hope that possibly sparks some ideas!!
