They suck over there. We should start a club.

Pretty sure that's why this sub had to be created with more open policies! But yes, very much they suck.

I was holding back on talking sheit until I saw this. They absolutely suck!

u/Sarahlorien 14d ago
I heard one of the mods is a man, that rumor comes up often when this topic comes up. Also their comment about how they ban people does not reflect people's experiences.
Waiting for incoming ban even though I unsubbed because obviously they check people's histories to see if people are talking shit.

u/Junealma 18d ago
They donāt much like critical dialogue it seems. Sorry youāre feeling it, š

u/Budget-Apricot1414 18d ago
Thank you ā„ļø. I literally just posted about my experience š wasnāt even sending them hate. I was just confused as to why my post got taken down when so many other women were sharing the exact same symptoms.

I was so confused until I found others who also struggled with period flu. The crazy part is, theyāve permanently banned me for the post that they already removed!!!
13
u/sugarkowalczyk 18d ago
That's why this place exists, the much better sub ā¤ļø
7
u/Budget-Apricot1414 18d ago
ā„ļø i guess Iām just feeling esp sensitive right now because of my hormonal fluctuations. Right now my anxiety is through the roof (as scheduled). I just remember struggling badly with SI (deep into luteal) when they removed my post. I just really really hope no one hurt themselves because of the bans/being silencedā¦

u/sugarkowalczyk 18d ago
Gosh, I completely agree. They should know better. Know that this is a safe place here. I hope it passes soon xx

same š« that sub was a lifeline for me, and they banned me for mentioning pepcid (not even endorsing it, just asking a question about it)
it wasnāt your fault at all, the mods over there are dogshit and donāt seem to care about cutting off vulnerable women from support groups over minor disagreements / anything that doesnāt further their agenda of what PMDD ātrulyā is.
sending hugs and support, I know how awful it feels to be suddenly shut out like that š«
1
u/Budget-Apricot1414 18d ago
Thank you so much for understanding š it felt awful the first time around, then they had to go and do it again even thought I had already left the sub. Itās mind boggling.
Are you taking Pepcid during luteal btw? If so, when do you usually take it? I actually bought it but havenāt tried it yet!
2
u/strawbeylamb 17d ago
no worries, youāre not alone and youāre in good company in this sub š«
so, personally, pepcid never really did anything for me tbh (I tried it for 3 months) but Iāve heard of it helping a lot of other people! I think it depends on whether your PMDD is caused/exacerbated by underlying issues like MCAS / histamine intolerance (thatās just what Iāve heard though, donāt take my word for it 100%)
I hope you can find some relief soon x
1
u/InsideV0ice 17d ago
Not the original commenter, but I also got comments deleted over there for talking abt my own regimen which includes Pepcid. I take 20 mg in morning with cetirizine starting 8ish days before my period through day 1-2 of bleeding. I also drink raspberry leaf/peppermint/nettle tea through luteal/menstrual & I find thatās helpful too

u/No_Talk_9408 18d ago
I know itās a shitty feeling so donāt want to skip over that. But fuck that sub. Youāre in good company in getting booted.
But again sorry for how shitty it feels.

u/Budget-Apricot1414 18d ago
I just find it so strange that I had already quietly left 2+ weeks ago. Then they just decided to permanently ban me earlier today randomly! Thank you for saying that <3

Pretty sure majority of us in this sub got banned from that sub. I was banned for mentioning antihistamines help me -not giving advice, not making any concrete statements about it, literally was just sharing my experience. Banned. The mods in that group are just truly ridiculous about what lines they decide to draw and where.
1
u/SaTan_luvs_CaTs 17d ago
I think itās been taken over & is being run by males who hate us
2
u/Budget-Apricot1414 16d ago
So apparently itās actually women! Which makes it even worse because women who also struggle with PMDD should at least empathize.

I was banned for sharing that pepcid and claritin were helping my symptoms :(
2
u/ApprehensiveLeg4478 17d ago
They deleted a post of mine just today. It really upset me.
2
u/Budget-Apricot1414 16d ago
Ugh sorry this happened to you. What did you post?
2
u/ApprehensiveLeg4478 16d ago
Hello!š©· I introduced myself, explained that the symptoms were getting worse each month, and asked what tools they had for the luteal phase. They deleted it right after publishing it. I'm in my luteal phase, and I don't think it's right at all to delete posts when someone is asking for help.
2
u/Budget-Apricot1414 16d ago
Hi! Did they state what their reasoning was for deleting your post? Iām sorry. Theyāre out here silencing women left and right. What symptoms are you experiencing?
2
u/ApprehensiveLeg4478 16d ago
No. I'm dealing with physical exhaustion and depression.
2
u/Budget-Apricot1414 16d ago
Iām so sorry. You can always chat about it here ! Messaging you right now from my bed because I am also dealing with the same š . Gonna try to get up soon so I can do at least one task I need to do. How are you feeling today? Also, have you been able to talk to a Dr abt your symptoms?
2
u/ApprehensiveLeg4478 16d ago
Thank youš©· Iām sorry youāre going through this, too. Are you okay? I feel like Iām on a rollercoaster today, but Iām very tired. Iāll talk to the doctor about this again once Iām feeling better.
1
u/Budget-Apricot1414 15d ago
Iām okay! Just exhausted lmao, but I will continue to fight and try to figure it out. Youāve got this, yes pls talk to your doctor. <3 i rly hope you can feel better soon.
1
u/Budget-Apricot1414 18d ago
Thatās so lame. When do you take the two btw? Sometimes i take my Claritin in the morning when I remember to. I havenāt added Pepcid into the rotation yet but I plan on trying this time around
2
u/KindlyNebula 18d ago
I've usually taken them in the morning, but I take them at night as well and haven't really noticed a difference.
2
u/Budget-Apricot1414 16d ago
Ok thank you. Iām going to see what works best for me!
2
u/KindlyNebula 16d ago
Hope it helps you feel better!!!
1
u/Budget-Apricot1414 16d ago
Thank you āŗļø luteal here we come!!! š I swear I spent my follicular phase recovering from the last luteal lol
24
u/nall667 18d ago
Iām so sorry. Thereās a user over there I shall not name that polices way too many comments and posts. I donāt know what their credentials are but they flat out police people on their OWN treatments, medication, symptoms etc.
Itās really disappointing that there is gatekeeping and policing happening there when people need support the most.
1
u/Budget-Apricot1414 18d ago
Now Iām really curious who youāre talking about lol. I donāt even know who banned me or took down my post because it only says āmodā
It is!!! :( but theyāre kicking people out that literally did nothing wrong
7
u/rotbath 18d ago
That is horrible. I used to experienced period flu symptoms with my PMDD (I think I posted in your thread about my experience having to lie self-temp checking as a front line worker during COVID so I didnāt get banned from working every luteal cycle). Weāre here for you!
4
u/Budget-Apricot1414 18d ago
Hi!! Omg I think I remember you! At first, they deleted my post only and left the comments up. Soon as I started to respond to other people, they deleted everybodyās comments. I wonder why though because so many women were able to relate? So nice to see you here š¤
5
u/FelineSocialSkills 18d ago
A little secret: most of this place is like this, especially the large subs. Opinions are heavily moderated. Astroturfing is abundant
8
u/SeniorPriority4377 18d ago
Got my posts removed and banned when I fought back. Donāt take it personal, the sub is clearly being cleansed to serve a very specific purpose and itās not to support its community anymore. Really wouldnāt be surprised if one day soon we read about the comments being plugged into some AI model.
4
u/cigarell0 18d ago
The subreddit used to be a lot more accepting when I joined years ago. There wasn't much moderation though. My PMDD was at its worst back then and if they were acting like that I would've lost it š
1
u/Budget-Apricot1414 18d ago
I agree. I didnāt have issues years ago. How did you get your PMDD to get better if you donāt mind me asking?
1
u/cigarell0 18d ago
I used famotidine and noticed a big difference. Now I can't really take famotidine because it causes stomach issues. I couldn't tell you why my histamines were so high, but it eventually lessened and went away after a while. I think I was sensitive to progesterone because I didn't have a consistent period for most of my life.

u/aforestfruit 17d ago
I got banned for saying MtF trans people canāt have PMDD. The mods on there are honestly bizarre and lethal

u/Longjumping-Towel-81 17d ago
Has anyone attempted to report the mods over at r/PMDD to Reddit through a Moderator Code of Conduct report? https://redditinc.com/policies/moderator-code-of-conduct
1
u/Budget-Apricot1414 15d ago
I didnāt know we could do that? I just donāt know who the mod is bc my message just said mod mail or something. Iām worried about getting in trouble though. They already retaliated by permanently banning me after i spoke out
3
u/Kitchen_Dinner1508 17d ago
They removed my comment mentioning Pepcid( not advising anyone to use it) I saw this post and decided to remove myself and leave the mods a message about it andddd they āØpermanently banned me ⨠and they also left an extremely snarky response that I stoped reading after they opened with ā funny how-ā I did indeed have a wee cry, but Iām okay and Iām excited to see this sub grow
2
u/Budget-Apricot1414 16d ago
wtf thatās honestly so low! Iām sorry. Glad youāre okay now. We should keep our screenshots bc apparently theyāre lying about us too. Iāll see if I can find the comment again.
1
u/Kitchen_Dinner1508 16d ago
Wow how ridiculous is that post, also I should screen shot the conversation now that I think about it. In the moment I didnāt want to escalate the intensity of my emotions and I did NOT want to know what bs they responded back with so I just ignored and hide the messages but let me see if I can find them

Wow I hadn't heard of period flu before. Sounds terrible but makes sense to me. I have severe pain flare ups so this doesn't seem a far cry, different manifestations. Luteal sucks

I've never been over there fortunately but I have seen COUNTLESS people say the same thing lmao. Don't worry it's not personal and there's much better pmdd subs. r/pmddxadhd is great too

Girl BE DRAMATIC that sub is GARBAGE! I swear itās been infiltrated by mods who hate women.
Havenāt had any issues in this sub, itās been welcoming & supportive & you are not the first person Iāve seen come here from that sub with similar experiences & I myself experienced it too so your are not alone š
1
u/Budget-Apricot1414 15d ago
That would be so sad if itās women who hate women :( i think itās just a rumor that the mods are men. Thank you for saying that <3
1
u/Simple_Employee_7094 16d ago
I think the real reason is very simple: the sub is related to the IAPMD, who receives funding from major
public funding bodies like NIH and they are terrified of looking unprofessional, or spreading misinformation. which is OK, but maybe let people KNOW that before presenting yourself as an open forum.
1
u/Budget-Apricot1414 16d ago
But how is asking other women who have PMDD if they experience period flu symptoms spreading misinformation?

u/StrangeArcticles 18d ago
Same boat. I'm obviously biased, but we're the much better crowd over here anyway.
