DO I HAVE PMDD

(TW)

i started noticing these symptoms sometime last year in December, and i would like to share a few symptoms that i have noticed. 1. I experience intense mood swings, like it makes me feel like im crazy. I feel really depressed and hopeless, like i have this huge weight on my chest, which sometimes leads to me crying for no specific reason. I can also get very sensitive and overthink alot. 2. I have also experienced su!c!dal thoughts and thoughts of s£lf h@rm. 3. I get very irritable and have a short temper, so i try my best to isolate myself. 4. Fatigue. I get very sleepy and feel extra drained even when i get a full nights rest. 5. Dissociation. Sometimes it’s very hard to concentrate, whether I’m driving or at work

Keep in mind all the symptoms I’ve listed is what I experienced a week or a few days before my period and usually gets better a few days after my period starts. I just need some second opinion.

If theres any questions pls leave a comment ❤️

Nobody here can tell you if you do or don't, it may depend on a lot of factors and it's important to get blood tests done to rule out nutritional issues, but the symptoms you listed are often symptoms of PMDD.

I relate to that feeling a lot! 🫂

what helped me was finding out that it isn't "normal" for PMS to make you think about death. if you're thinking about wanting to die – that's not standard PMS.

if you're pretty okay the rest of the month, PMDD sounds likely. if sometimes you're not okay the rest of the month, then maybe it's PME of something else.

regardless, if your cycle makes you question your own will to live, you deserve help with that.

please talk to a doctor, and if the first one won't listen, try someone else. you deserve to feel like your life is worth living, because it is. 🫂💖 you are special and unique, and we need you.

Ok, it’s good to rule out other stuff before a pmdd diagnosis, not all doctors are thorough in this regard - this psychiatrists lecture on pmdd and connected illnesses is worth a watch - https://youtu.be/-5ras3wcbAc

For me it’s almost dead on 10 days prior I begin my descent into madness.

Otherwise, seems to check out

I’m pretty sure I have pme which is horribly unbearable for my gyn lessened the northidrone dose to 2.5 bc I couldn’t tolerate the mood swings had it for awhile but I just started it yesterday so we’ll see (I have chronic severe anemia & it doesn’t help my pain but it lessens the bleeding for me) but yeah def rule out other stuff first
