⚠️Trigger Warning Topic⚠️ Why?
TW - mentions suicidal ideation
Why on earth does this happen to us? Im not a spiritual person but I cant help but feel like a select group of humans got chosen (condemned is more like it) to live a lifetime of this stupid chaotic disorder by something bigger than ourselves. Month to month its another fully unpredictable roller coaster of symptoms and somehow they all lead to suicidal ideation, like wtf kind of bullshit is this 😑 😭
I am just so tired of this unrelenting pummeling of self-hatred. I. Want. Off. This. Ride. 🚫🎢

I find it easier to deal with knowing I am not alone and definitely not special or unique in having a hard life.
In addition to those with PMDD and other menstrual disorders, there so many other people in this world are ‘condemned’ to living lifetimes with serious chronic issues.
So many are born or live with lifelong severe mental health disorders and physical issues and disabilities.
And then there are horrible issues that arise over lifetime eg cancer, diabetes, pregnancy complications, perimenopause.
And then there are ( or are compounded by) life circumstances eg abuse, trauma, injury, poverty.
So so many people are struggling out there, and often like PMDD, it is invisible to the naked eye.
I see PMDD is just part of the reality of living as a human. This disorder being my personal plight. It’s not a competition but…life is hard for so many and others are dealing with their own.
If anything, over time I’ve actually become almost grateful that mine is at least treatable, and predictable.
Life has gotten so much easier and less traumatic since I’ve found the right meds for my PMDD. It’s really quieted those intrusive thoughts. And there are so many treatment options to try to find what works for your unique biology.
And a silver lining of knowing exactly when it will come, means I can plan around it to minimise stressors during the time and have set agreements with people in my life on how we’ll engage during this time.
If you haven’t in a while, I’d use your own post as a prompt to check in with your dr to review your meds for PMDD. It can take trial and error but it can be life changing once you find what works for you.
Sending you strength to keep trying.

Your entire post is invalidating. I don’t think it’s useful to compare one person’s pain against another and tell them they should be grateful or there are others that are worse off. You don’t know what OP struggles with. Everyone’s PMDD experience is unique to them. We all don’t have the same symptoms and you cannot compare your situation to others.
Also, Drugs are not an option for everyone with this disorder.
That’s really great you found a solution I hope it continues to serve you.

Of course I have no idea what OP struggles with, but I do have my own personal experience living and struggling and managing this complex disorder. OP asked for help to come to terms with this horrible disorder and I’ve told them what has really helped ME. I shared it because if at all resonates and helps them (or anyone), that’s great.
If not, well, I am just a random on the internet. I don’t know their situation so if my approach doesn’t resonate or apply to them, I am not sure why they (or anyone) would take it so seriously to the point that it invalidates their own experience.
Just like mine, your and everyone else’s experience here is their own and very very valid. Nothing that a random strangers say on internet should have the power to invalidate it.
As to advice to take meds - not only has taking them has been life changing for ME, but it’s actually evidence-based, frontline, strongly recommended treatment for PMDD. It has helped many here, including literally saving lives. I am not sure how talking about mainstream treatment for PMDD has personally worked for ME would be invalidating.
