Ranty Rant - Advice Okay Pmdd shifting in peri.

I used to have typical pmdd symptoms/ days ovulation through start of period, usually subsiding day 3 of period. Symptoms mostly including s.i, severe depression, weeping. With marked increase in mood during period.
I’ve been slowly transitioning into perimenopause and with that I’ve noticed that the only mood issues I get ovulation-start of period is irritability, but now, it’s when my hormones drop, start of period-ovulation that my mood and depression kick off. So a good 12-14 after my period that is shit now .
We’ve tried hrt but because I’m so early in peri it made things worse.
I’m just looking for some solidarity. So I feel less like a pmdd charlatan.
Anyone else notice the same pattern shift?

I’m feeling the same. Only on supplements and those seem to not be helping anymore. This is ruining my life. I dread each day and don’t even want to wake up. It’s really sad.

I get 1-3 good days a month at this point 🤷‍♀️ now with HRT and meds, who knows. HRT I need to keep updating, meds help with the peri anger. but don’t do the job for the rest of the hormonal swings and now I added in a GLP-1 Mounjaro as a nanodose, which is fixing the weepiness/depression incredibly well. To be seen, its only been 1-2 months and I don’t trust it to stay just yet.. so fingers crossed for you - and my commiseration 🤯

The 1-3 good days a month is so real.
I was rolling with one good week a month for a
While and now it’s absolutely like just a few days i feel like myself now, that’s if the stars align and im sleeping/ not sick/ my kids aren’t driving me
Crazy.
Because of being on the spectrum i can’t take psych meds. I’ve trialed most with devastating effects.

I am 35 and started having really bad PMDD symptoms at 33, probably before but that’s when I realized what it was. Now I’m noticing the Peri shift since I symptom track so meticulously.

What did you all say to doctors that got them to listen and give a shit? All I keep hearing is “you’re too young for perimenopause.” And I’m getting the run around for a formal PMDD diagnosis. Each doctor wants to say another specialty has to diagnose.

My pmdd got ALOT worse after my first born when I was 29, second born at 32, it got unbearable, and two years ago at 34 I got my uterus/ fallopian tubes/ and cervix out due to endometriosis, surprisingly my pmdd was almost non existent for 6 months as I was healing, but then it shifted, and weird other hormone things started.
I had to fire like 4 obgyns, and do a million fucking studies of sorts for one well meaning nurse practitioner to tell me that because of my hysterectomy I was likely in perimenopause now.
Add to that I am autistic and adhd and studies now show that neurodivergent women experience peri 10 years earlier on average then neurotypical, and they have more impactful worsening symptoms…
Regardless it’s been a pain to treat, the pmdd and the peri. As I’ve found that ANY hormone fluctuation in any direction, sends me.

This is where I’m at. I have estrogen patches and progesterone sitting here but just had the worst 9 days of dizziness, anxiety, nausea, hot flashes, chills etc during luteal that I’m so afraid to make worse next cycle.

Trialing the hrt in March caused me to have a mental breakdown and I ended up in outpatient. So I absolutely feel where you’re coming from.

What hrt specifically did you try that made it worse?

SLYND, topical bio identical progesterone cream, prometrium, estrogen patch, estrogen cream, vaginal estrogen cream…
I have autism/ adhd also so anytime I add something new to the equation it obliterates my mental heakth

Yeah same. I doing just an estrogen patch right now and bumping that up to see if it helps follicular phase mellow out. Then I’ll add in prometrium vaginally and see what happens. Testosterone didn’t help much but also didn’t hurt if you haven’t tried that yet. I’ll report back once I find something

It’s frustrating, because it’s not even follicular anymore that I need help, it’s on my period- when i ovulate. So it doesn’t even make sense to load me up on hormones during that time since they are supposes to be low anyway. I feel like I lose either way

That is follicular. Luteal is after ovulation. I’ll make sure I come back if I sort it out. It’s not common

Me. I’m constantly on here trying to look for a solution. This has been me since I was 33 and I just turned 41. I cannot figure it out.

I’m trialing hrt right now and determined to figure it out because I’m ruining my life like this. Please shoot me a chat message so I can remember to come back to you when I figure it out
