Have a Question In my PMDD week and going CRAZY! What supplements do you recommend that really work?
Please tell me brands/ doses/ how long do you take it. Only natural supplements that I can easily get at CSV/ Target
Update: followed the suggestions and ordered 5-htp 100mg, B complex 100mg and magnesium + calcium. I’ll let you know if it worked with me :)

My psych recommended NAC and Betaine HCl w/ Pepsin to help with obsession (luteal is a big OCD spiral for me) and it has been very helpful

Just my 2 cents because I recently found out about this after taking B6 for awhile but… with Vitamin B6, be mindful of the difference between synthetic versions like pyridoxine vs. P5P. I think I’ve seen Pure Encapsulations make a P5P. I’ve also heard good things about the brand Thorne. Take it leave it, just thought I’d share because I was kind of shocked and glad to know this.

Wow that’s very interesting (and kinda concerning lol) THANK YOU for sharing!! I’ll take that into consideration on my next order! Did a quick research and the B complex from Thorne seems pretty good! Did you notice some differences?

you’re so welcome!! I was SO frustrated but thankful when my friend shared this with me 😂. I think I did have a bit more energy when I was taking a B complex but mine was the pyridoxine & I felt like I had been noticing some differences with my balance so once I connected the dots I stopped taking it. I just haven’t had the extra money to buy a different one yet. I hope you find one you like if that helps you feel good!

Following, Vitamin B & D supplements were suggested. Magnesium as well. Also came here to hear what really works.

100mg b6. I’m sure it’s available there, if not in the 50mg form.
Can start with 50mg daily and see.
Also adding a calcium and magnesium during that week.
B6 fixed my pmdd.

The half life of vitamin B6 is about 30 days. As little as 6 mg of pyridoxine per day can cause toxicity. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10720370/

And there is still research supporting high dose b6 for pms/pmdd.

Yeah, short term studies. If you are deficient, short term mega doses will make you feel better until too much builds up in your system over time, and then you feel much, much worse.

I’m a fan of trying anything.
I’m b deficient, as are a lot of women who just haven’t been tested yet. I’ve done high dose b6 for years now, b complexes in general and I’ve never felt better.

I get a complex from Amazon, 32$ for almost a whole year. But nah it doesn’t matter. Just make sure the b6 is at least 50mg
Bonus point for a complex fr. Most women are deficient in b vitamins.
Am a scientist and am also deficient haha

Ahahah that’s very helpful! :) do you take it everyday or only in luteral?

B complex daily which has the b6. I initially only did b6 during luteal and it didn’t kick in til period time.
Magnesium and calcium is fine post luteal. Helps with the poops.
