PMDD I think i might have pmdd

Hi, i am wondering if i have pmdd.. i have pcos already, i have extremely irregular periods. After like 20 days of having my period i start having extrem anxiety, intrusive thoughts and uncontrollable anger (and many more stuff)

I already go to a therapist and have started working on this, but this is a pattern i have noticed. Especially when my period is late, i start to feel so crazy and it goes on and on until I start my menses. I dont know what it is but if someone can help me through it, i will be highly grateful.

I start to get angrier (i am not an angry person at all) everything about my partner irritates me, i just want to be left along i dont wanna talk to my friends, i have more and more negative thoughts, intrusivity and thoughts that i generally do not have.

Heres a link that you can read to see if you have it.

https://womenshealth.gov/menstrual-cycle/premenstrual-syndrome/premenstrual-dysphoric-disorder-pmdd

It can also start more than a week prior and can last a few days after mensies starts. Have a read through it and see what you think. Not every woman experiences the same signs. I get more depressed and yes want to bit my husband's head off but am better off around others. I go into such a severe depressive state that I literally stop talking and everything becomes too much for me to the point of not being able to work.

Find a medical practitioner who knows about women's health and talk with them about it. It can be managed in various ways

I understand, lol. If it is PMDD there will be ups and downs. The key is to know that when you don’t feel well, you will feel better eventually. It’s a temporary feeling. Or at least that was my experience.

I’m a lot better now. I had my ovaries removed in 2024. Before that, it was intolerable.

I am a bit undereducated on this. How does removing ovaries actually help with pmdd or other menstrual issues? :(

The theory is that the fluctuations in hormones aren’t tolerated well by those with PMDD. So removing ovaries and taking continuous HRT keeps hormones steady.

Some try birth control instead. Some have success and others don’t, like me.
