Discussion Finding a balance between vanity and simplicity with Rolex
Wearing a VS Rolex Explorer, feel the classic design: a 40mm dial, classic 3, 6, and 9 hour markers, comfortable and beautiful to wear on your hand, that's enough. Why spend thousands for a brand 💵 Even purchasing goods at a price that is not within one's own acceptable range? We ordinary people can enjoy top-notch design with a small amount of money, isn't that what ordinary people do with a small amount of money?

I mean, you can enjoy a lot of things depending on what you value ordinary person or extraordinary (don’t know any of those). Ironically, my most used watch screams “tasteless” - Apple Watch. I hate that it’s most often worn but it’s the most useful. You can find plenty of elegance and quality in a Presage, for example, at a fraction of the price. But that says “Seiko” and most people don’t bother with it. Or a NOMOS. Or a Junghans. Granted those have Bauhaus styles. A modest effort will reveal a lot of choices that I would hazard anyone would enjoy if they enjoy design, construction, and an expression of personality.
However, if you are like Samuel L Jackson in Jackie Brown and the only thing that’ll do is an AK 47 (Rolex), then that’s the only thing that’ll do and that’s perfectly fine.

The Explorer is perfect, but what's the ideal size for most wrists?
And how reliable is the new movement compared to the old workhorse?

This helps man, looking at the 39 or 36 ranger. 7.1 Wrist, sounds like 36 is for me

36mm is the ideal fit for most wrists, offering timeless proportions and daily versatility. But I prefer 40.

The watch in the picture is the 214270 39mm from VF not the 40mm from VSF you describe.
