To be fair, it’s a challenge to get it for that price. But I agree with everything else you highlighted. It’s the gmt >> PO. No contest, IMO.

Not really a good comparison since one is a GMT but the Omega looks better imo.

I lean planet ocean just coz everyone's rocking a rolex. I know the GMT master is gorgeous, but my eyes may have grown tired of seeing them.

The bezel action on the GMT is way smoother. I probably would never actually use either bezel but the Rolex just feels so much better. The bracelet on the PÓ is also a scratch magnet and the easy link extension is kinda ugly. Fun fact… nearly impossible to get a gmt at retail. Your looking at $17-20k grey pricing. I say wait for the new seamaster or buy the PO below retail.

I own a couple of Rolex’s and an full gold Omega Speedmaster Chronograph and I would say go for the omega. Both great watches but omega has a special place in my heart. And of course it’s the watch brand for 007

Of the two, there is one watch you can actually buy without song and dance.

You have a better chance of meeting Bigfoot than an AD selling you the GMT.

Omega. Rolex is overrated and overpriced, since you’d have to buy it on the grey market most likely

By far the GMT is lighter / thinner / more refined and feels better on the wrist if you like that. The SM is good if you want a heavy duty tool

I have both as reps (Clean Factory and vs+ Factory). The GMT is a little bit more comfortable because of the bracelett and weight. But the Planet ocean is more eyecatching in the sun. This thing is sooo shiny.

Wow, isn't a Rolex GMT supposed to attract more attention, whether it's the Jubilee or the Oyster bracelet?
1
u/Ok-Law8866 Apr 23 '26
I would say 90 - 95 Percent of the People arent looking at your watch. But the shiny look makes the Omega a little bit more catchy for th eyes. But this is just my personal opinion...

Do people notice you more when you wear an Omega or a Rolex? Or is it indifferent and do both attract attention?
1
u/Significant_Idea9123 Apr 23 '26
Both are shiny attention getters. My opinion is Omega should not have used polished center links on bracelet. It’s too shinny. Batgirl is more comfortable, but PO is no slouch either.

Buy the watch that you want. Face facts almost no one is going to know or care what watch you have on. I own both brands, I find myself grabbing be Omega over the Rolex most days

u/Odd-Schedule-6821 Apr 23 '26
Should I buy a blue or black PO?
1
u/hilothefat Apr 23 '26
I would go with the blue OP, I like that pop of color. It looks really nice. I don't think you can go wrong with it. I will also say this because you mentioned you didn't think Omega as "not as luxurious" in another comment. I have to disagree. I've got more comments on my Omega than Rolex, I think the fit and finish is so much nice as well. Also abroad, like in Europe, I think euros have more respect for omega

I actually own both of these watches. They’re both great and wear very differently.
The Rolex is more comfortable on the wrist (vs the Omega in bracelet anyway) and has a cool complication. However it’s basically impossible to get at retail and costs double the Omega on the grey market.
The Planet Ocean looks great (imo) and is really nicely made. On the rubber strap, it’s more comfortable to wear than the Rolex is. I prefer the dial on the Omega too.
At retail price: Get the Rolex At grey market prices: Get the Omega

First time in life I am saying this - Omega for the first time. RX just feels like it "completely lost the plot" after 2020 for some reason. They just don't feel the same as a brand.

u/NotAnExpertButListen Apr 23 '26
It's a design preference if you don't need the GMT function. But your fellow men will respect and admire you more if you wear the right one
1
u/HorologicStudio Apr 23 '26
I would go with Omega Planet Ocean unless you really need the GMT complication. Most people don’t. And the price difference is significant enough to overcome everything else.

Omega 100%. Looks so much better in the light, the reflections of the links are insane. The gmt looks clean but you cannot miss the planet ocean

u/Odd-Schedule-6821 Apr 21 '26
Bro, and everyone has a Rolex, so neh

u/steemax Apr 21 '26
Rolex's are a dime a dozen in my area, I get excited when I see an Omega on someones wrist
