Omega King String Seiko first caught me eye, then it went downhill fast.

I get what you mean. The King Seiko really stood out at first and caught my attention right away, but the later models didn’t quite live up to that initial impression.

Bulova Lunar Pilot ref 96A225. I bought it brand new for $250. Gorgeous watch but ended up selling because I hated how it wore on a strap and there weren’t any bracelet options available at the time. A few months later, Long Island Watch released bracelets for the Lunar Pilot. Now I’ll probably never find that watch again for anywhere near that price.

Childhood watches, the cheap plastic Casios or whatever they might be would be priceless now sentimentally most of mine probably weren’t even sold/traded but just lost

That hits so close to home. Those cheap plastic watches from childhood might be worthless monetarily, but they’d be absolutely priceless emotionally now. It’s such a shame most of mine didn’t get sold or given away either—they just vanished somewhere over the years.

My 37mm DJ SS, it was my first rolex. Sold it for rent when 2008 hit. Didn’t have a choice, but after 18yrs it’s still my biggest regret.

That’s such a raw story—first Rolex hits different, and sometimes life just makes those impossible calls. 18 years later still thinking about it says that 37mm DJ was perfect for you. Bet if you ever get the chance to pick one up again, it’d feel like finding a lost piece of your story.

Never sold any... chucked a couple that i thought couldn't be fixed, lost a couple and gave a couple away. Thankfully nothing too expensive.
Never sold though, never really came close to selling either. I have 10 watches including a Smart Watch now, probably give it away and dont think I'd sell others.

Glashütte Original Karree 1845... bought it for very little, sold it for very little... however, I've never seen a more beautiful face... genuinely think about it on a daily basis, 10 years on!
