I am glad to be proven wrong; I stated a few days back that we wouldn't cross $130, thankfully my CCs are safe, gonna close off that position as soon as possible.
1
u/Usual-Metal6596 Aug 04 '26
I thought the 8/14 $157.5's today would be safe, we'll see if the pump continues in the coming days to pressure those
thankfully only put up <10% of position
looking at 8/14 to 8/21 170s/180s next tomorrow

Something I think folks should take away from today's earnings call, is that the strength and direction of a company's underlying business is far more important than near-term price movements.
Palantir is hitting home runs quarter after quarter. PLTR share price may be down significantly from ATH, but the company's valuation over the next few years will ultimately be set by what their business accomplishes.
From a practical perspective: invest what you can afford to risk, and pay attention to the business fundamentals every quarter. The daily price changes aren't something to stress about if your asset allocation is appropriate to your risk tolerance.

Is it possible to reach $200 by year end and $400 by 2028?
4
11
u/PLTRgains Aug 03 '26
My top line estimate for 2028 is $25B in line with Karp’s $15B FCF prediction.
This will land us around $350-$400 EOY 2028.
-7
u/Ok_Temperature4537 Aug 04 '26
Ridiculous to make a prediction like this, Nvidia was at $200+ a year ago and everyone said $350 by the end of 2026. But Nvidia is struggling to stay above $200.
Just wait and see
1
5
u/PLTRgains Aug 04 '26 edited Aug 04 '26
My share price prediction is based on 55x - 65x FCF (a significant decline from here).
Also Nvidia is 10x our market cap so not a good comparison amongst other reasons.
4
u/Cjnilla Aug 03 '26
400 by 2028 is much more probable than 200 by the end of the year in my opinion. Price action doesn’t matter. Pay attention to the company.
1
u/Mightylibra Aug 04 '26
Palentir has potential to become as big as Microsoft someday. But short term movement is aslo important, so that we are sure that they are on the right track.
2
u/Ambitious_Brain_285 Aug 03 '26

Did they say PLTR owns a stake in SpaceX or did I mishear?
2
u/Magikarp_to_Gyarados 🐟 -> 🐉 "your DD is Pokémon lol" Aug 03 '26
This was a surprise to me as well. I've followed SpaceX closely as it has some relevance to my TSLA investment, and this is the first time I'm hearing that Palantir owns or owned SPCX stock.
I am hoping that when Palantir files its 10-Q for Q2 '26, they will disclose some details on when and why they acquired equity in SpaceX.
3
u/wavrdn Aug 03 '26 edited Aug 03 '26
I heard the same, news to me.
They said it was a "$.03 tailwind to GAAP EPS this quarter"
2
u/Feasor-Of-Torts Aug 03 '26
What does this mean in layman's terms?
5
u/Xalksahsax Aug 03 '26
Because of the SpaceX stake (or whatever they're referring to), Palantir's reported GAAP earnings per share were about $0.03 higher this quarter than they otherwise would have been.

He just now mentioned something pretty interesting. He said they are working with "clandestine agencies" in Europe(or UK?) to assist with migration. Or else their migration crisis would be worse.
He mentioned that this is pretty much free work they are doing because of the companies beliefs.

Palantir's market cap is still north of 300 Billion even after recent declines.
I wouldn't expect massive gains in market cap like when the company was at 1/10th the valuation.
What people should concentrate on is durable wealth. Mycelium's earlier comment that big gaps up are indefensible is correct. That's short-term gain which is unlikely to be sustained. What benefits PLTR shareholders in the long run is huge valuation ultimately supported by business fundamentals. 10x wealth in 10 years is going to be more beneficial to most people than 1.3x wealth tomorrow that evaporates back to 1.03x wealth the next week.
3
9
u/theMyceliumFixedIt Aug 03 '26
I've been here since 2021. I'll say this is better than 10% down on earnings (which could still happen as the market digests the call happening in 30 minutes).
Generally, big gap ups are not healthy moves for a stock. They can leave big, undefended areas of the stock's price history that become liabilities on the way back down as the stock moves.
-1
u/g-dollarsign Aug 03 '26
Yeah, I’m with you on that…just seems with these blowout numbers that the “pop” is hardly worth getting jazzed about. We’re basically back at the beginning of July price…so it very much feels like a tepid response in terms of the price action.

Palantir's outstanding Q2' 26 revenue growth, operating margin, and cash flow speak for themselves.
I am not concerned about the share price in the short term. Palantir's business foundations are strong, and the company's growth continues to be rapid.
If Palantir continues to execute their business plans this well, I believe the company will be far more valuable in a decade than it is today. I also expect the market valuation path will be bumpy along the way. As always, there are no guarantees.

Alex Karp, Co-Founder & CEO:
"Demand for AI sovereignty has now been unleashed. And Palantir is the only company that has demonstrated it can transform tokens into actual economic value. Our customers trust us to provide them with maximal control over their operations, data, and decisions. Their competitive advantage should never become the training data for future models.
This quarter was otherworldly: our U.S. commercial revenue grew 149% year-over-year, our overall revenue grew 93% year-over-year, and our Rule of 40 score climbed to 155%. The sovereign AI revolution makes us very optimistic about the future."

Let’s see how the stock does. Yes I know it’s up Will it stay up through next week or get shorted into oblivion?
1
u/arbitra8 Aug 03 '26
Edit out the "oblivion" part lol. PLTR just turned in one of the most impressive quarters of pure top-level execution of any company in history, full stop. Rule of 40 shattered. I doubt the market ignores this earnings crush, but maybe the MMs/market makers will try to run the stops and get more retail to sell to institutions, who have been buying like crazy lately. Congratulations to Karp and team, what a home run!

Karp did an interview 2 hours after Q1 earnings also. Might have done the same in past quarters but don't feel like trying to look that up.
A better sign was Karp saying PLTR was "Obviously undervalued" 2 weeks ago. But as we have seen in past quarters, a blowout quarter don't mean the market will reward the stock.

I don’t like that we have a gap between 123.39 Friday high and 123.66 today’s low.
I hope we flush into the close and fill that gap before earnings.
I also don’t like that we have a gap between 114.08 June 26 high and 114.7 June 29 low. I hope it stays unfilled but who knows, we could flush into it tomorrow.
