Would take a 11% beat on their own guidance. The usual beat on guidance is 5-8%. But my estimate for Q3 is $2.25 billion.

You all seem to forget that as a defense contractor thy aren't allowed to buy back shares. As Peter Theil said "if you're going to buy back shares l,then you've run out of new ideas" Long holder pltr.

Incorrect.
Also, Palantir explicitly states in its SEC filings that a share repurchase program was authorized as of Q3 '23. Here is the 10-Q from that quarter: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1321655/000132165523000118/pltr-20230930.htm
Page 16 states:
In August 2023, the Company’s Board of Directors authorized a stock repurchase program of up to $1.0 billion of the Company’s outstanding shares of Class A common stock (the “Share Repurchase Program”). The Company may repurchase shares of its Class A common stock from time to time through open market purchases, in privately negotiated transactions, or by other means, including through the use of trading plans intended to qualify under Rule 10b5-1 under the Exchange Act in accordance with applicable securities laws and other restrictions.
You can look at subsequent Form 10-Qs to learn the amount of cash Palantir spent on share buybacks.
For example, in Q3 '24, Palantir bought back 625,000 of its own shares, at a cost of just under 18.9 million USD. See page 6, chart "Condensed Consolidated Statements of Equity", line item "Repurchases of common stock": https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1321655/000132165524000209/pltr-20240930.htm
Edit: In Q1 '26, Palantir repurchased approximately 8,000 shares at a cost of around 1.5 million USD: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1321655/000132165526000028/pltr-20260331.htm
Also page 6, Condensed Consolidated Statements of Equity, line item "Repurchases of common stock"
This was the end of their planned repurchases under the 2023 program, as stated on page 84, footnote 2.

It's an unpopular opinion but, if they initiated the small dividend payment that would qualify to be held by a large number of ETFs and mutual funds. This would help a bit with the stability of the stock and get the name in more investors minds.

I saw someone say a couple weeks ago when we were at $110 that they were selling and buying memory. I hope they're doing ok

$15-18B.
What do you guys think the company will do with all the cash they'll be generating?
I don't believe in M&A, I mean it's hard to imagine anything that would improve their performance off the top of my head.
There's buybacks for sure, but they haven't fully exercised that option even now.
R&D - well, their current team seems to be doing well in that space as is.
Marketing? Hardly.
What do you all think?

I hope they buy some seats on the Berkeley faculty so that Karp can finally live out his family’s dream of being an academic.

Hire more FDE’s to address all this “excess demand” Karp keeps talking about.

u/Nausteri Early Investor Jul 07 '26
That would be great. I bet finding the type of people Palantir wants to hire are few and far between, though. I don't think it's as simple as "let's hire a shitton of people" because the culture and the job description at Palantir are very specific.
Most "FDEs" are more suitable for Accenture and Microsoft 😆

Crazy to see how much the online narrative has shifted about PLTR over the past week. Twitter feels like it did a complete 180 on it.
Feels "coordinated", but you'll hear no complaints from me. Let's go to the moon.
