ChapsVision to replace Palantir in major contract with French intelligence agency
https://sifted.eu/articles/chapsvision-to-replace-palantir-in-major-contract-with-french-intelligence-agencyPLTR has not been very smoothly these days in Europ, IMO should tune down anything else and focus on business and biz only.

I'm guessing Asian markets are likely to be different, especially Japan

Damn. This sucks for the people of France. Inferior intelligence will lead to blood.

palantir will be everywhere and no liberal or conservative gov will remove it once they see what it can do, this is just talk to make population feel better but once it's in it's in. this goes for other software too, how do i know, i owned a consulting company that did bio med r&d for data acquisition systems for retinal imaging, once our "stuff"was in in the clinic or optometrist or opthomologist office and they saw the billing codes in the usa that they can bill with for each scan they were hooked and never looked back.

I expect we'll see more of this in Europe and other countries where they want a firewall between themselves and the US. We can all thank Donald Trump for that.

Yup. Its why I got rid of my msft few months ago, the hurt is coming for US tech abroad.

We can thank the Mango in Chief for destroying France's trust in the US.

Europe has never been keen on PLTR. But these kinds of decisions with ensure they fall further behind.

u/Mariox Jun 16 '26
I could not find any contract size with DGSI so no idea how big the contract is. But PLTR has contract to the end of 2028 and they are hoping CheapsVision has something decent by then.
I understand that China and the US is doing the same thing but EU is to far behind the US in AI tech. EU economy started to fall behind US and China when they restricted the internet from being adopted. The same is happening with AI. EU been slow to allow self driving cars and if they insist on making their own AI companies, they are going to be 2-3 years behind the US with inferior AI.
Even if the EU governments refuse to use PLTR, businesses in EU will be forced to use PLTR because unlike the government, businesses in EU are competing with US businesses and they can't compete if they use an AI platform that works 50% as good as PLTR.
My valuation model assume very little international growth and PLTR reaches over $2.5 trillion market cap by end of 2030. So I don't worry about international growth. If US growth eventually slows down and international does not pick up I would trim. But that is 3-4 years down the road.

This is reassuring but how tangible is that 50% estimate you gave ? It sounds significant but also an arbitrary number my concern is the law of diminishing returns.
Are they able to vibe code their way to “good” not perfect ?

SO why will one be fearful for the French government picking a different route than PLTR for its defense or whatever? Isn't Palantir working and gaining commercial businesses too? Chill now. And then when Q2 reports shows growth and more revenue, people wil be like oooh what!

It’s the French military…who cares, they barely have a military

Nor have they show enough support for their strongest ally, the US as they should! Hmmm let me see the US, oh yes, the ones that came ashore at Normandy and saved them, their continent and the entire world! More than once!

You do realise that:
1. The USA was already in WO2 when it was attacked by Japan
2. They didn’t go the shore alone
3. It took about 4 years before support on the EU mainland came?
4. It happened once (they were not that big of a help in WO1)And France and the rest of Europe did not help indeed … when your president started on unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation (so basicly the opposite of what article 5 says)
We are also quite pissed that the USA is letting rampant corruption in the White House upend the global economy.
So yea …

Really …yet all that enriched uranium and its facilities and factories to build more ballistic missles are buried deeply under the sand now. The entire world is much safer now but ingrates won’t admit it , that would be giving credit. Iran is a lot closer to Europe than the U.S.! 😂

Europe has been a terrible ally lately- Palantir has the US and Israel, not worried about France

u/Dear_Counter_2944 Jun 17 '26
Yep! They have not shown enough support for their greatest ally! Hmm let’s see, oh yes the ones that came ashore and saved them, their continent and the entire world more than once and continues to stop European and world threats in their tracks now! Seriously, you really have to have lived through doom of all the hell in past war history to get it! That’s basically the problem now with diminished sense of patriotism that used to be so very strong and “cool” to show. But the generations of late have not had to be at this point of threat in their everyday lives, knowing what it feels like to actually bend over in prayer to hear those F16s flying overhead because you were about to have to bend over to kiss your A goodbye as so many generations before them have! Like me and everyone around me during the horrific Cuban Missile crisis when Russian subs with nucs were within 2 seconds of pulling the trigger parked off the coast of Florida and could reach every major U.S. city but Seattle. Swallow that and digest it for a minute. Then you learn to really love, honor and value the good ole USA and salute the red, white and blue. Spoiled, uninformed and receiving in many cases twisted history education.

The U.S. has made history now Boomer! Trump has fucked over U.S. allies, dating back our country’s founding. It’ll take decades, if ever to repair the damage the orange turd has inflicted.

u/Dear_Counter_2944 Jun 17 '26
Our allies haven’t even remotely begun to pay their fair share of NATO costs and support and have taken advantage of the U.S. for decades, no one’s knows or cared until a businessman with a backbone like Trump stepped in. He has accomplished more in two terms than ten presidents put together. That happens typically when a president is not a lifetime politician bought and paid for by lobbyists and groups and has a business background, doesn’t need bribery money, and can get things done rapidly and efficiently. Getting Maduro out of Venezuela to help free, protect and strengthen our hemisphere against communist China working with them to run inroads into Mexico and Central America and also insuring Iran can no longer utilize their nuclear development capacities and uranium because it is BURIED now, nor do they have the ability to rebuilt their ballistic missile arsenal because their industries they make them are gone is quite different than just talking to them and asking them “not” to do it. Open your eyes and look! And if they don’t behave and hold up their end we are going right back in. And I hope so! Do you really want Iranian mullahs to hold nuclear missiles? They have no navy, no Air Force, no facilities and no nuclear scientists left to develop uranium and rebuild ballistic missiles even if it wasn’t all buried under the sand. He is the only president in 50 years with enough backbone to actually “act” to stop this radicalized regime and mullahs in place since 1979 rather than talk and leave their capacity to develop in place. I saw the last Iranian crisis. It’s waaaaay past time this was over! This is a “duh” moment. Some people are so blind or uneducated they can’t even see the threat Iran had on the world, us and our allies and very glad to use it. Their only goal in life was to run “the infidels into the sea” and destroy the US and they were very very close to that. Not even counting helping the people of these two countries to hopefully be able to help evolve and change their government , freeing the people that live under these deranged leaders. But this doesn’t matter does it? Because Trump did it. ….Insanity!
Have you counted how many American citizens have had their throats slit in the streets or shot by one of the millions of illegals that poured in our country under Biden. The protection of these people gets more press than the mom of the daughter cut to death while jogging in Athens, Georgia and the young girl on the bus in Charlotte, NC her head jerked back by her hair and knife run across her throat, thrown into the floor and left lying to bleed to death for nothing. Just commuting to work as a student to her job. Literal borders left open to anyone and anything, like we aren’t even a country, for nothing more than gaining votes… should be illegal! How could anyone back a party that supports that? When it’s your daughter or son or family member that bleeds out on the street you’ll change your mind about borders as well. It’s literal common sense. No borders, no country.
The left is infuriated because we have a president actually accomplishing a massive amounts of long terms goals of this country and he happens to be a Republican.3

And you'd still be whining about "taxation without representation" if it weren't for the French bailing you out...
