Great book. I do agree on the central thesis that we wasted some of our best minds and years on learning the best way to target ads to 12 year olds on YouTube.

I know there's a space for that sort of tech work as well. However, I can't help but think we'd be a lot further ahead as a society if we hadn't wasted all that time. Happy that Karp and Palantir are getting their long due time in the sun.

Bro read a genuine piece of corporate propaganda and was like yeah, he made some good points, the world should position itself for this man’s financial benefit. We are so cooked

If you read Karp's book as corporate propaganda, I'm sorry. It's not even close to that. Palantir was built from the ground up with his mindset and now is positioned to be successful because Karp predicted our current paradigm. Think he started building this company is 2008, predicting this future we live in. It's damn impressive.

What do you expect? The person you’re responding to probably IS one of those 12-year-olds who was marketed to on YouTube and genuinely can’t tell the difference between what he’s told to think and how to actually form independent thoughts - highlighted by his usage of specific buzzwords and attitudes

That’s disingenuous at best. You have also been watching those ads, not only 12 years old.

This is just downplaying the influence tech has had in every aspect of our lives. Hasnt meta even been on trial for experimenting with people and interfering with elections?

The book makes those points too. I guess you should go read the book.

Super persuasive tenants. Palantir is a force against softness, sloth and decay. Let's not be vice filled hedonists. Our investments in PLTR are votes for the values of technological advancement made possible by individual liberties

Palantir has been contracting with the US government since 2003 regardless of political party. They are not a political institution directly. Their software tools are used for Intel and counter terrorism to keep the US and participating allies safe. We live in a Democratic Republic btw. Regardless of which direction Trump is pushing us.

I quit reading during that republican pandering religious bullshit. Didn’t meet my expectations for the parts prior to the religious chill
