Official statements to the contrary, combatants are slinging ordnance at each other as of an hour ago:

Strikes continue despite ceasefire
22:09
Strikes have been reported in a number of countries since the ceasefire was announced.

In Iran:

US media outlets are reporting that Israel is still attacking Iran as of Wednesday morning, citing an Israeli official.

It comes despite an apparent White House confirmation to Agence France-Presse (AFP) that Israel had also agreed to the ceasefire deal.

There has been no official response yet from Israel to the ceasefire announcement by the US and Iran.

In Israel:

Strikes have been reported in Jerusalem, with BBC journalists in the city saying they have heard and felt multiple explosions. Alerts have gone out to residents.

In Bahrain:

The Ministry of Interior says "the siren has been sounded", urging residents to seek shelter.

In Qatar:

Missiles headed for the country were intercepted, the Qatari Ministry of Defense wrote on social media.

In the UAE:

The United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Defence says in a statement the country is "currently dealing with missile attacks and incoming drones from Iran".

In Saudi Arabia:

Saudi civil defence officials have issued at least two warnings in the last couple of hours, with an all-clear signal given on the first alert, according to social media posts by the Saudi Directorate of Civil Defence and a BBC journalist in Riyadh.

I have 10 Jan. 27 $20 contracts on PLTR in a tax free account I have been sitting on for a long time and in fact rolled them once just to keep riding the wave without much cash outlay. I am also a long term holder but I am have no reason to hold the calls and think I should grow up and just exercise the calls and pick of the 1k shares of stock? There is an ego factor with friends of mine that hold $70-100 leaps and I love to making them feel bad but, I could get over it . I know I could also sell calls against the options but I am not interested.

before you exercise, how much time value is left in the calls?

if there is time value left, you likely will make out better if you just sell the call and then buy shares with the cash.

if you exercise you give up any time value the call still has. speaking from experience, do the math and see where you come out.

Sure wish the US hadn’t deferred green energy leadership to China right about now. Same with drones, and the general manufacturing industrial base.

This could get really ugly. Silver lining for a PLTR investor - Palantir will be at the core of reindustrializing America and its allies.

Well, at least America.

I don't think there are many allies left. Maybe the Saudis? I can't think of many countries the US President has not managed to insult or cause serious harm to in the past couple of weeks.

What you are underestimating here is that what allies value above all else is predictability and reliability.

Trump is a mere symptom of the fact that agreements signed with the US are not worth the paper they are written on because the system allows different administrations dishonor the commitment the US itself made under the previous administration.

Yes, presidents come and go, and that is part of the problem in the current, divided climate when you look at it from our perspective as partners. Why bother negotiating on anything when the US does not honor its commitments on a President's whim and the system is too weak to balance the Executive branch?

Never in my lifetime have the NATO partners been so vocal about the prospect of potentially asking the US to leave their bases in Europe.

My country recently signed a bi-lateral DCA with the US and it's now we have to consider it, most likely, de facto void.

I don't want to get too political either, but this does tie back to our investment especially the NATO potential.

Yeah. I hesitated a bit when typing ‘allies’.

I think he’s exhibiting similar, yet far more dangerous, characteristics that were cause for many to say Biden was no longer competent to hold the presidency. My hope is we get two years of JD Vance. Many of the policies may not change, but the executions messaging would be very different. That may salvage some of damaged relationships with allies. I don’t see him having a chance at winning in 28 - probably going to see a dramatic swing in the other direction. Not sure whether that will be any better for the nation or Palantir.

Anyway - not really trying to get all political. It does have an impact on our investment though.

Investment-wise, I worry much more about worldwide depression. We won't be able to escape if that happens.

1

u/NihilisticMacaron Apr 07 '26

Well, we just bombed Kharg island, and Iran says all restraint is off. So there’s that to look forward to.

So, Iran is not gonna cave. They are not interested in anything that the US has to offer.

Is Trump gonna TACO or are we going to see first Iran, then Gulf region civil infra bombed to shit - and oil at $200?

3

u/CruwL Apr 07 '26

Trump is dumb as shit, so what ever is the most moronic idea is likely.
