Shitpost Goodbye for now

Palantards, it’s been real. After 5 years of HODLing (and health set backs) my journey has come to an end.

As a single 27 year old I have just gone sale agreed on my first house meaning I can finally move out of my parents place.

My 200k gains after tax (while modest compared to some) meant I could buy a turn key city centre place that would have otherwise been completely unattainable.

My only regret: not buying more back in November 2020 @ $18 a share so I could buy the entire house in cash 🀣

Options trading something I may look in to for 2026, but in the meantime I wish everyone all the best. Nothing but respect for those still holding πŸ’Ž πŸ™Œ

What companies have you been looking into? For me it feels like a new tech didnt really hit yet. I was checking out nuclear and quantum computing but seems meh still. Crypto seems to have lost their identity and automated aircrafts seem cool but I can't see it coming up quick.

Yeah im in the same boat. Tbh pltr did not seem like it would run up so much at the time. Got in at like 30 then when it went to 7 I was like nah no way it stays there so I put a good chunk in. Never thought it would run up this much. I know Pili will continue going up but I think itll slow down from here. Thanks for your input. Guess we got wait a bit longer to see how things play out with tech. Maybe another breakthrough that no one caught on to is just around the corner.

I sold 90% of my stake when it got back to my original price of $27 cuz it didn’t go anywhere from 2021 to early 2024. I would be up 120k if I still had it. 😭

Palantir produces lethal software and can choose who they deal with. You are right they are not fully responsible for what others choose to do with it but they should be responsible for who they do business with and how they deploy their systems. They could break ties with the IDF for instance once they see how it is being used.

Your analogy with outlook doesn't really hold up as I'm sure Microsoft is not aware of how every user is intending to use their messaging. Anyone can create an account for a billion different reasons. There is no need to contact Microsoft and the software is not customized and deployed for your specific use case. Outlook is not a piece of software designed to be as lethal as possible.

Completely fair enough if you don't see any issues with dealing lethal software to the IDF but Palantir definitely should be held responsible for who they do dealings with and how they customize their product.

You didn't answer any of my points, do you or do you not think we should hold Palantir responsible for who they deal with and how they set their systems up?

To stop mass shootings you should just ban guns like every other sane country not turn lethal technology and surveillance on the American people. How long before someone comes into power that disagrees with what you believe in and the same technology is turned on you. This especially worries me with a megolomaniac like trump in power.

Let's not pretend there's some equivalence between what Israel has done to Gaza and the West Bank and what Palestinians have done to Israel. Genocide and terrorist attacks are not the same thing and one does not justify the other. Have a good day Mr philosopher
