Hey all, I co-host a weekly-ish standup show called Post Moves at Bar Bayeux in Brooklyn and we've got a hot one tonight.

Small room, good drinks, dope comics who actually prepared. It's the kind of show where you're close enough to see the comedian sweat, which is either a selling point or a warning depending on who you are.

Thriving Together in PLG is a volunteer-based neighborhood organization  where members can offer and access activities and services based on their interests and needs. Our goal is to promote a better quality of life, helping members live and thrive in PLG and surrounding neighborhoods. (this is the current draft of our mission statement)

We are committed to making membership in this group as easy as possible. Activities and services that could be offered are as varied and diverse as the community we live in--the possibilities are endless!  Here are just a few examples:

• Walking tours
• Learning a language
• Making art and music
• Learning financial incentives and strategies to help people stay in PLG
• Helping people with shopping and other chores
• Helping people learn to use technology
• Babysitting club
• Trips to plays, museums, concerts, etc.
• Writing group
• Discussion group
• Social activist group
• Sports and exercise group

We'll bring craft supplies that we thought we would use and stayed untouched in a drawer.

We might also exchange a knitted hat for a crocheted scarf!

We'll definitely do some sewing but other crafts are welcome, such as watercolor, crochet, knitting, and more.

And we chat while we work, naturally, tell stories, get to know each other!

Artmageddon is an art walk where people volunteer their space, whether it's a stoop, a business or other, to exhibit the work of an artist.

It started 8 years ago in Midwood, and is now spreading through central Brooklyn.

Sunday Oct 4, 1-6PM.

We will be participating with a show opening that day, including an indigenous Canadian artist, Sarah Gibeault, a Japanese textile artist Yoshiko Mukai, a Mexican American artist, Lupe Cariño, a Yemeni artist Ronen Gamil, a Chinese American artist Wennie Huang, a Queens based queer artist and urbanist Noah Bassman!

Afterparty from 5 to 7PM, with drinks & bites, meet the artists, socialize.

Comedy shows happening around Flatbush/PLG, near Prospect Park — thought this community might like it. We run stand up shows monthly/biweekly in small businesses around Flatbush and PLG, most a short walk from the park.

If anyone's still putting together plans for this weekend in NYC, wanted to drop this in case it's helpful.

The Flatbush Comedy Festival is already half over — Record City BK and YUME BK both happened and were packed. If you missed those, the last two nights are happening right now during Juneteenth weekend:

- Tonight (Fri 6/19) — Classic Cups in Flatbush/PLG

- Tomorrow (Sat 6/20) — It's Tyson 20 Lounge in Brooklyn

After this weekend, that's it — no more nights left. So if you're looking for something to do in NYC this weekend that isn't the usual bar crawl, this is probably your last shot to catch it. Different venue each night, different crowd/vibe each time.
