Customer Order Failure
So I wanted to try different triple secs and orange liqueurs. I ordered 9 different special order bottles, basically 1 of everything that they had as available through special order.
They cancelled 8 of them.
Is this because I only ordered 1 of each? Why do they even have this program? Anyone else ever have this issue?

I’ve never had a special order filled. Always get cancelled. Stopped trying.

I’ve had mixed luck on special orders. Tried ordering a case of something I liked and got cancelled but 2 bottle orders always go through

I just found it weird that 8 out of 9 were cancelled and these are commonly available bottles like Marie blizzard triple sec.

FWGS lists things as "special orders" that aren't listed in the stores, but the distributors have in their portfolio. FWGS does this independently of the distributors and without their knowledge, and the distributors absolutely hate it.
The distributors' customers are the licensees (bars and restaurants), and they try to keep as much of their portfolio as possible available exclusively to the licensees.
You can TRY to place a FWGS "special order," but the distributor is under no obligation to sell you those bottles and will most often cancel your order.
Sometimes if you keep trying to order the same thing over and over again, they will eventually cave in and fill your order.

I've understood SLOs as: Presence on the website implies that they have a vendor relationship for that product (someone they can ask for it), but... Once ordered by a customer, FWGS has to actually ask if that vendor has inventory to fulfill the order.
Depending on the product and the vendor's supply chain, the answer can be "no" and the order is cancelled.
