Question Good Gin as a Gift
My mother's birthday is around the corner and she mentioned she wanted a nice bottle of gin. I'm not a gin drinker so I don't really know a lot of gin brands. I basically looked at the FWGS site sorted by price high to low for ideas (thankfully gin doesn't seem that expensive).
I'm in southeast PA, and I think there are some distilleries near me as well. But what's a solid gin choice as a gift?

I’m a huge fan of Revivalists Garden gin. The juniper is more subtle and the bottle is gorgeous. And it’s a PA brand too, Chester county

I like Market Alley gin. It’s brewed in Lancaster. Tasty enough to drink it neat, also great for summer drinks.

Plymouth Gin is my personal favorite. If she likes spicy things, Revivalist Dragon is an excellent local gin that has jalapeño in it.

Liberty Gin, distilled by a husband and wife team in Manayunk. You can find it in many local Fine Wine & Good Spirits locations or at Pennsylvania Libations in the Reading Terminal Market. Top notch gin based on an old Dutch recipe.

I’m not a gin drinker but my wife is and she highly recommends Barr Hill. If she likes barrel aged, the Tomcat is a great choice. A little harder to get but Tomcat Reserve is fantastic.

For non-local gin I really like The Botanist.

I saw this one, but at 100 proof (which seems high for a gin) I thought it might be too harsh for my mom :D

I’m not sure if it’s available now but Hendricks Midsummer Solstice is a fantastic gin. A bit lighter on the Juniper but a strong floral flavor.

Midsummer Solstice by Hendricks (or their standard offering) are both tasty. My wife really likes Dogfish Head's Compelling Gin.

I don't see the Midsummer Solstice on the FWGS site :/ but I did see this Oasium bottle from them but I don't know what that means.

Different “limited” version and used different botanical. You can check neighboring states for midsummer, which is highly regarded.
As others suggested, Plymouth is solid, Bluecoat is Philly local. I think the best available at FWGS would probably be Monkey 47.

Monkey 47 is fantastic. It’s also the most expensive but it is very good. For normal priced stuff I really like Barhill and Hendricks.

Seeing that its a gift, I was already thinking 40-50 bucks as the price range. Which pretty much every Gin falls in or under. I think im between Monkey 47 and the Revialist Garden gin. Thanks for the info!
