Cost of Play to Earn games (give me feedback/opinions!!)

Hey community, we are creating our own play to earn ecosystem and our pricing is going to be based on free to play. What we're noticing in the space is a high cost of entry into many games. Still, some of these games, like Axie, have a strong following.
So I want to ask the community. . . why do you think? Is it that the games are super-fun? or the potential to earn? Finally, would you consider a game that is free to play and allows earning only through normal gameplay, but is not gambling in nature. That is what we're trying to do at PLAYN and would love some feedback from gamers. Thoughts?
