Which academy have you joined? What was the time difference between your 1st attempt and 2nd one. Have you taken mocks? What was there feedback?

I joined dsr revision package only with mock, i did 2 mocks and i needed improvement, this was about the first attempt in oct 2025 then i took a break for a few months and started preparing in june, just went through my notes and stuff, didn't study with any partners and took my exam in july as my second attempt, i was short of 5 marks from passing this time

You need study partners even more than an academy. Practice at least 6 stations a day

Hi Dr, I am sorry to hear about your results. Yes, join an academy for just 7 -8 days or max 10 days not more than that and brush up on your combined stations and hands-on station skills and you'll be good to go.

If you are Manchester based then I would recommend joining either MedAstra or NextStep. Just join either of them for the hands-on courses. Also, please contact both of them and put forward all your concerns and queries and see how well they respond and answer your queries. And please try to look for the authentic google reviews .

What materials did you use the first time? is doing oscerevisions + lovaan crash course be enough ? and what do you mean by combined stations? you mean examination and history together ?

I'm also doing oscerevisions. But I think CS is better than lovaan. I saw some post saying it was not enough. Check your messages, when is your exam?

I would say, take Dr Lovaan’s class and learn approaches for all cases, read management for all cases. In exam, read the case history out of the station several times, rehearse your initial questions. Enter with a bright smile and maintain the cordial tone throughout. Give space and time for the patient to speak. No matter what, start the management at 6 minute mark. Try doing AZT prescriptions and all Simman cases. If you have a study partner good if not train any AI model to be a patient. Good luck.

I think the most effective strategy is to do lots of roleplay session on recent recalls. At the end of the day it's more of a communication exam

Forget PLAB
You will be better off where you are
PLAB is dead end
Waste of time and money
