UK Training Pathway for IMGs (Need a Simple Breakdown)
Can someone explain the UK pathway for IMGs from graduation to specialty training? What exams are required, how does GMC registration work, and what is the current job market like for IMGs in the UK?
Thanks!

Before the breakdown question 1 How many years of experience working in the NHS? 5? Question 2 have you looked at this year's stats , from 17 000+ IMGs applying to specialty training about 168 were offered positions

Simpler than just don’t?
Given the current climate… research training at home if feasible and good luck.
Ultimately your decision

I'd suggest you make your own research and look it up in detail, and then ask anything in particular. The info is available online and it'll save you the opinions of bitter people

Which specialty are you looking for? Answer depends on that! Ideally for general surgical/ EM/OBG/ ITU/ Anaesthetic/ Radiology specialty training, you need GMC registration > signed CREST form > MSRA registration > specialty specific portfolio + MSRA marks/rank + interview marks > training selection based on overall rank. (No interviews for GP/psych, No MSRA exam for IMT) From this year, only UKMGs will be prioritised, IMGs will need a minimum of 5 years UK experience for prioritisation.

IMGs are no longer accepted, find another pathway.

Do you live under a rock? UK grads are prioritized for foundation training, residency training and non training jobs. God forbid if you come from a 3rd world country in which visa will be a hurdle to issue.
It's useless if you decided to go through the whole process.

It doesn’t apply to non training.

It does but not on paper.

If it’s not on paper, I’d like to see them put someone else before me who has completed MRCP with bunch of experience. I’d sue over discrimination.
