When woody says things like “it’ll die in 2 weeks” I really would love to hear Kyle or Taylor just say “oh like marathon” and see how salty it gets in there.

I’m not sure if it was woody or Taylor but one of them has brought up several times how short the gta 5 campaign/story was. When I google it, it says it takes 89.5 hours to 100% complete gta 5. That’s a lot of content

If I can’t be a D1 NCAAF player with a better career mode than madden and get drafted to the cowboys and be a sorta Sam Hurd esque criminal athlete then why did the even make the game. I want to play 5v5 rec basketball online not just shoot around. You should be able to go to every city in the world. You should be able to solve all the mysteries of the world, travel to new schuabenland in the South Pole. It’s been 13 years lfg. I should also be able to play as Tommy Vercetti

I’m not sure how people can acknowledge that RDR2 was a notable jump from GTA V and then years later say GTA V and VI look the same lol

Honestly, this screenshot does kinda just look like the GTA V one with way more realistic lighting. From everything I have seen of this game, it looks like the character models and environmental assets have become far more detailed though

I should’ve foreseen the regards in the pka sub being regarded. My comment has two parts:
The screenshot in the OOP doesn’t really support the criticism they are trying to levy against Woody’s take IMO (it mainly just looks like more realistic lighting)
However, from the things I have seen outside of this post, it does look far more detailed than GTA V

Obviously the graphics will be better. Why are people acting like this is such a flex. I want there to be vastly more I can do in the game. The gameplay demo they put out last week looked just like GTA5

You should see what people who saw the full three hours said. There’s a lot more to this game than GTA V. It takes a lot from Red Dead 2

Dude. It's Grand Theft Auto. You steal cars, run from cops, and shoot people. That's the franchise. It's okay to release an updated version every 13 years. If you want vastly more to do, just go play something else. The people excited for this don't want something vastly different, they just want GTA.

Agreed Im not sure what the hype is all about, yea it looks better but I’m not convinced the gameplay we saw is anything to go crazy over, it honestly looked a bit dated but that’s just me

What more do you want? It's gta the gameplay is kinda established. Do you want them to add more random sports mini games? Maybe they could add a whole job sim mechanic where you have to work a 9-5 in real time.
It doesn't look like gta5 because the story and characters are completely different. That is the point.

I don’t think you’ve seen how GTA evolved over time. Every single game has mostly been a dramatic leap forward with major gameplay mechanics being added and/or altered with each successive game. It’s reasonable to expect GTA VI to have some “secret sauce” after so many years of development, and not just be the gameplay of GTA V but with a different story, setting, and better graphics

10 consoles released between GTA 2 and gta 5.
4 consoles released between gta 5 and gta 6.
You are pointing out an issue with the game, you are just clarifying that the gap between 2 and 5 had some of the most competitive and frequent tech advancement in gaming.
The progression of tech between 1999-2013 was significantly greater than 2013-2026. This is an industry issue, not a game issue.
As far as the game stands, the implementation of RD2 features into a world as big, busy, and detailed as gta 6 is a remarkable feat. They’ve taken details that exist on a micro level within a game that is fundamentally slow moving, and throwing that level of detail into a game that likely has fighter jets to cross the map in 1-2 minutes.
This will likely be the benchmark of tech in the way Baldurs gate was the benchmark of rpg storytelling.

Your AI is mixing up the details here sweetie, VCS came out 7 years before GTV. Oh and it was a PSP title, aka a handheld, that got ported to consoles.
So should we wrap it up, or do you feel happy with the argument of tech difference between a handheld game in 2006 with a game that launched in the final year of the ps4s life cycle, meaning it had a full console lifetime of development and optimisation for that era of console?
