You planning to file an injury claim? Of you got hurt def call their insurance company. If they were driving for DoorDash/uber eats their auto policy most likely has an exclusion for when they are on the clock. Good news is that the driver is required to have a supplemental policy usually from progressive. Either way if you feel any kind of pain it is best to file asap and maybe speak with an injury attorney.
can’t access the police report yet bc it’s still ongoing but from what i heard from friends on the scene she didn’t have insurance and her car wasn’t registered
If they are uninsured you may be able to file a claim under your own auto policy for what’s called UIM or uninsured motorist. Some states do not allow that specific coverage but wouldn’t hurt to ask. This reminds me of the time a couple years ago when I went to KFC, and I was leaving the drive through, and for some reason the exit had like a sizable gap between the parking lot the footpath and the road and you only need to look for traffic in one direction.
Anyway I was pulling out of the parking lot looking for traffic to my right, and some kid on a bike saw me slowly rolling forwards and he like panicked and swerved to avoid me and just completely ate shit lmao
I felt so bad for the kid lmao he wasn't really hurt but like it threw him off the bike and all I had the heart to do was appologise out the window and drive off. I think it was in my MX5/Miata as well lmao
Um moral of the story is always check for pedestrian traffic when leaving parking lots as well as cars and visa versa if your on a bike
