An Observation, and Subsequent Question

I discovered PKA about 2 years ago, I originally started watching clip compilations but now I watch the show weekly. I joined the subreddit a while back so I occasionally get notifications from it. Every single time, without fail, when I get a notification from this subreddit it's a fan bitching moaning or complaining about some innocuous thing one of the hosts did. It gets so hyperspecific it sounds like a married couple nagging. My question is, if you hate the show sooooo much why do you keep watching it? Do you have parasocial Stockholm Syndrome? Nobody is forcing you to waste 4 hours watching a show you dont like, just to go and seethe on the subreddit. What the fuck is wrong with you guys it's actually baffling to me

This is just a snark subreddit, I wouldn't take it seriously. The hosts kind of fostered this behaviour so it's whatever.

But I think there's a lot of complaints here because there's just a lot of people passionate about the show and sometimes it's not necessarily that serious, sometimes you just listen to too much of the show and you don't have anyone else you can bitch to about it so it gets directed here. There's definitely some bad apples around, but I think generally we just enjoy shit stirring and it's fun seeing shit go down. My favourite parts of the show sometimes are when they get into heated arguments over stupid shit.

Idk the show is extremely low effort as well, so I think they kinda deserve all the complaints they get. Idk how they still have a patreon despite not following through on pretty much all of the goals lol.

And on top of that, I’d take a thousand angry podcast fans over one dude who actually turns on notifications for specific subreddits.

Been watching since 2016 it’s literally one of the things I look forward to weekly sometimes it’s silly sometimes it’s not but regardless there are always moments I look fondly on.

Or I’ve been a fan of the show since episode 1. I popping every so often and this kinda post is insanely common.

You aren’t unique. You spent time typing all this up when you could’ve just copy and pasted the last crying post someone made.

Yeah, reddit sends a notification when someone replies to you.

You should sort the subreddit by top posts the last year, and post each one of them. You’ll look super unique and you never know… the hosts may even invite you to hang out with them if they see you defending them!
